LONDON, September 22 (IranMania) - EU military attaches walked out in protest at a parade in Tehran Thursday after ballistic missiles were rolled past carrying vitriolic anti-US and Israeli slogans, diplomats told AFP.

"There was a common position among the European Union members that, if the military parade included any slogans that attacked our allies, we would leave," said a diplomat.

"The military attaches from the embassies of France, Italy, Greece and Poland were present at the parade, and when they saw the slogans they promptly left," said another diplomat.

At the parade, Iran showed off six of its Shahab-3 medium-range ballistic missiles sporting banners reading "Death to America", "We will crush America under our feet", "Death to Israel" and "Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth".

"They may be just slogans, but for us they are unacceptable," one of the diplomats said.

The military event was held just south of Tehran to mark the start of "Sacred Defence Week", dedicated to the hundreds of thousands of Iranians killed after the forces of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein invaded in It also coincided with mounting tensions between Iran and the EU over Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

EU military attaches

They saw what they came to see, the major weapons both offensive and defensive, evaluated the military potential of them and the sharpness of the attendant military uniforms, and then seeing nothing else of other military value, left at the first excuse.

My son would call this a target rich environment.

(I have not served. My tagline honors my son and my cousin.)

I don't know about Tehran, but I have a friend who lived in Kiev in the Eighties. It's probably the same in all dictatorships.

For May Day parades they gave you the day off, so you didn't have to work, but you had to go to the parade.

Hey, it's a day off, why not take it?

Of course, in 1986 Chernobyl had just blown up, but they hadn't announced it yet to the Soviet people, at least not how serious it was.

So she goes to the May Day parade, just as she had in previous years, stands outside, but this year she was pregnant. She was more than a little frightened and pissed a couple of days later, as you might imagine.

Fortunately her daughter is almost 19 now is in good health. We can only hope it continues.

Yeah, those Republican Guards will clean your clock.

Whatever happened to them, anyway?

For the same reason women must keep covered from head to toe at all times. For the same reason the Mullahs lowered the marriage age of women from 19 to 9 in Iran. For the same reason one mustn't get a tattoo.
" Because Mohammed said so "
Islam doesnt ever have to make sense.

Nuclear weapons in the hands of personnel who can't even spell a simple five-letter English word. Outstanding.

Not only that, they do not get the technical description correct. I should be HATCH FOR ELECTRONIC FUSE.

"I think Iran would fold up like a cheap tent just like the Iraqi army did."

I don't think so.

They're not just slogans, stupid Euros. They're not just slogans.
