LONDON, September 22 (IranMania) - EU military attaches walked out in protest at a parade in Tehran Thursday after ballistic missiles were rolled past carrying vitriolic anti-US and Israeli slogans, diplomats told AFP.
"There was a common position among the European Union members that, if the military parade included any slogans that attacked our allies, we would leave," said a diplomat.
"The military attaches from the embassies of France, Italy, Greece and Poland were present at the parade, and when they saw the slogans they promptly left," said another diplomat.
At the parade, Iran showed off six of its Shahab-3 medium-range ballistic missiles sporting banners reading "Death to America", "We will crush America under our feet", "Death to Israel" and "Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth".
"They may be just slogans, but for us they are unacceptable," one of the diplomats said.
The military event was held just south of Tehran to mark the start of "Sacred Defence Week", dedicated to the hundreds of thousands of Iranians killed after the forces of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein invaded in It also coincided with mounting tensions between Iran and the EU over Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

It is a good thought. We have them surrounded and there is a quaint little body of water to stage our fleet whilst still having bases on flanking sides of their country.
I would think they would be a little antimidated. I can't tell who the better world stage poker players are, America, Europe or Iran. They are betting like their hand is strong but aren't showing much.

ALL RIGHT! Way to go, Europeans! Yes, walking out of a parade in protest is certain to persuade the Iranian government to change its ways. Or, if by some unbelievable chance it does not, you could always whip out the big guns. You could threaten to hold your breath until you turn blue.

Yes, the Mullahs destroyed the discipline among soldiers, NCOs and Officers of their own armed services. Military Discipline doesn't exist any more in the Mullahs' armed forces.

Well as long as the French didn't wave the white flag while walking out, then it's a start. It looks like the entire NATO alliance takes the Iranian threat very seriously. Fischer of Germany made an interesting remark the other day about Iran when he said, "we don't want this nuclear issue to reach a fatal conclusion." That may have been a reference to a NATO military strike on Iran if Iran insists on developing nuclear weapons. Whether the Europeans are bluffing...we'll just have to wait and see.
Just remember that these are the same guys who could do no better than a draw against Saddam and the vaunted Republican Guard.

Given the situation, I would say Iranians were much better against Saddam's forces.
Iraq had all the support needed to win the war while Iranians were completely left alone! But Iraqis couldn't make it though!

I am in favor of a small scale military strike against Mullahs' stronghold but it might also push back our efforts to bring a real democracy to a country where most people are unhappy with the current regime.
