Alderman Is Recalled in a Special Election (St Louis)

St. Louis Alderman Thomas E. Bauer became the latest victim in a surge of recall elections in the city Tuesday.

Voters ousted the veteran Democrat, known for campaigning on the back of a donkey, in a special election, with 60 percent supporting the recall. He has five days to resign as alderman of the 24th Ward or he will automatically be removed from office.

It's nice to see the voters take this into their own hands. Of course, they never should have voted this guy in to begin with.

Bauer made conflict of interest a way of life. He even had the audacity to bring a $2 million lawsuit against constituents who had him cold turkey. The effort to intimidate backfired, and Bauer himself may now be subject of a lawsuit that hopefully will empty some of his bulging pockets.
