This is the first time I've seen this one make it to a "mainstream" paper.

Even if Russert does come clean on this, it won't stop him from his constant moaning about the Bush tax cuts. He sucks.
To: Chi-townChief
Tim Russert is one of the few Democrats that I have any respect for. He is not afraid of opening his eyes and looking at the way thing really are.

Mario Cuomo creation Russert is slime. Just because he sucks up to Rush Limbaugh and flatters the occaisional Republican doesn't make him any less poisonous.

The liberal MSM including Russert are willing to run with complete fabrications as proved by this and the Rather debacle, and yet they scratch their heads wondering why they get blown off by the public. I guess it makes sense in their bizarro world BUMP!

We need to all e-mail Russert with this story and ask him when he'll issue an apology.
Doesn't Russert do one tiny bit of research any more?

MSNBC asked the woman's son, Thomas Rodrigue, emergency services director for Jefferson Parish, to comment on Broussard's by now legendary story. His reply: "No, no, that's not true. I can't tell you what [Broussard] said that day, why he was confused. I'm assuming he was under a tremendous amount of pressure."
There was pressure alright ... pressure from the Left Wing Media and the Democrat Party (but I repeat myself) to slap these deaths on Bush REGARDLESS of the facts. Russert SUCKS. To "come clean" would require that he admit his own personal complicity in such rank fabrications.

I have mixed feelings on Russert. I have seen him pitch beach balls to poloticians before but I have also seen him push poloticians for real answers to tough questions in bother parties. I think he tries real hard to play the middle and just be a good journalist.
I am not sure how he votes based on his reporting.

Yeah, but, it made such a great news story. It could have been true. It might have been true.
And people wonder why the MSM is going down the toilet.

Plain and simple - what Broussard did was use political hype and lies to distort facts about this lady's horrible murder! The nursing home people walked away and left elderly people to drown and Broussard is covering it up with lies. IMHO, he ought to be charged, along with the nursing home's caretakers........

The true story started to emerge the week after the MTP program.
Still, going on 3 weeks now, Russert has not apologized, corrected, nor retracted the story. He is doing essentially the same thing that Rather did with the fake memos. This was a fake story. Russert should own up to the fact that he got snookered. He got taken in. He allowed his agenda to cloud his judgment.
Russert loses more and more each day he lets this linger. He makes frequent appearances on NBC's Today and other cable programs. He has had plenty of opportunity to set the record straight. He continues to let it linger.
Russert is devolving into Rather-II.

I want to see him on Meet the Press, play the clip, then say,
"What you have just seen is not true. We, and other members of the media, have run this clip over and over again in an effort to discredit and embarass the Bush administration."
I want Amy Smart and a winning lottery ticket without paying for either one, too.

Timmy is a DNC hack, a political operative, an activists, and a faux "journalists", he has been a poser for over a decade.
No Republican/Conservative should stoop to being "interviewed" by a DNC official, to be berated and lectured too.
It is demeaning.

Tim Russert has not come clean yet--we will see if he does.
Like 9/11 and the SHAM Report on 9/11, there will be many lies and twisted stories that are accepted as facts, most done to slam the adminsitration.
We are not a centralized statist nation (as of now, at least, even if weare headed that way). As such, the Feds are NOT responsible for local and state management and palnning and preparation.
What is needed is a true investigation. That will not happen. Like the 9/11 CommisSHAM, what we will get is government investigating government, instead of--as it SHOULD be-- the private sector investigating government.
There will be a whitewash over Mayor Numnut Nagin and Governor "I drew a blank" Blanco and fingers will point to Bush and the Feds, even though the Feds have no resposnsibility to manage cities, city bus drivers, the counties and the state.
In the United States today, we never have a full and proper investigation on major governmental problems. Just ask those involved with Able Danger. Republcians continue to run cover for the RATs. Bush ran cover for Clinton and Reno over the scandals, the Bush ran cover for Clinton after 9/11/, then the 9/11 CommisSHAM ran cover for Clinton with its CHA summary (Cover His Ass), and now Bush will once again run cover for Nagin and Blanco.
Why Bush continues to be untruthful by failing to direct responsibility to those who are to blame (Scumbag, Nagin, Blanco, et al) is a mystery to all conservatives.
