Republicans vote to confirm that Reid is an a$$hole.

Several Dems cross the isle.

Unbelievable. Breyer and Ginsburg get through almost unanimously. Why? Because the Republicans know that elections have consequences and presidents get to pick nominees. The Democrats just don't get it.

This is great. Their desire to look tough to their pressure groups will box them in with the next nominee. They will lose their “Roberts was reasonable, and we supported him, but this guy is a kook” card. Their self-destructive impulses, driven by their hatred of all things normal, are pathological and entertaining.

"The sources who described his intention did so on condition of anonymity, saying they did not want to pre-empt the speech."

Huh? Giving his/her name pre-empts the speech. Giving the content of it does not. Only in Washington...

So much for Sen. Reid's claim to be a "moderate".

In other news, Hillary Clinton was too busy meeting with Cindy Sheehan to comment...

No one becomes Sen. leader of the Democrats unless they're a raving moonbat.

The Dems' portrayed Reid as pro-life. It'll be interesting to see how he explains his decision without exposing that claim as a lie.

That's it. The Democrats have officially declared themselves obsolete.

Not surprised, but stunned that the senator from the seat of prostitution, organized crime, and the illicit drug industry, would vote against a law-abiding, decent, human being (end sarcasm). Do we really care what this tin-horned crook has to say about a representative of justice?

(yawn) Any RINOs planning to vote against Roberts? Knowing how how the MSM would gush over them if they did, it'll be hard for some of them to resist.

The outcome of that vote is expected to serve as a preview of the level of bipartisan support Roberts can command in the Senate.

Like the dims on the committee are representative of the other dims in the senate. There will be at least 12 dims support Roberts. Also, when they say "oppose", it doesn't necessarily mean filibuster. They know it would be futile, so they will vote no just to make NARAL and others happy.
