Democrats Enlist S. American Dictator to Help with Re-Count

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla – In addition to Warren Christopher and James Baker, add the name Generalissimo Jorge Sanchez to the list of political heavyweights brought in to help sort out the election turmoil.

Clad in traditional military fatigues and Ray-Ban sunglasses, Sanchez spoke yesterday of Palm Beach’s controversial “butterfly” ballot: “Very much confuse. Gore second name listed, but when punch first hole, you mistaken and vote Bush. We must fix.”

Hired by the Gore campaign as Chief Hand Recount Advisor, Sanchez brings an impressive resume to Florida that includes former head of council under Chilean Dictator Augusto Pinochet’s re-election campaign of ’72, ’76 and ’80 before jumping ship to Peru where he briefly overthrew that country in ’92 and again in ’96.

“Mr. Sanchez’ experience in closely contested elections should help bring some dignity and closure to this process,” said Gore campaign chairman William Daley. “Besides you should see the collection of skulls he has.”

Already since Sanchez’ appointment, the Gore camp has been able to identify nearly 5,000 ballots cast for Bush that have been tampered with, thereby rendering them ineligible. “Sometimes machine mistake, count ballot that have bent or coffee spilled… or how you say it… torn in two,” explained Sanchez. “Very common. We must fix.”

The Republicans, however, are less than pleased with the arrival of Sanchez. Having already filed suit in Palm Beach County to stop the recount, they hinted at a possible second suit after discovering three of their pollsters dead, apparently the result of their genitalia being cut off and pulled through slits made in their throats.

“The more the votes are done by hand, the greater the chance of inconsistency,” stated a visibly shaken George W. Bush, before bursting into tears and adding, “He held my head under water and said if I told anyone he would kill Jeb! And then he showed me a necklace made out of other people’s teeth!”

Speaking from the steps of the White House, Vice President Al Gore addressed the Bush camp’s concerns: “The American people have a right to know their vote counts and sometimes Democracy must be patient.”

So for how long this election process will continue is anybody’s guess. But according to Generalissimo Jorge Sanchez, “I grow tired. We end soon.”

But other voters said they supported Schroeder's party because he kept Germany out of the Iraq war and pushed for diplomacy to resolve concerns about Iran's nuclear program. Germany is one of three nations representing the EU in talks with Tehran.

Wow. That is really a record to be proud of isn't it? If only we had let this guy handle the negotiations with al-Qaeda when they were getting ready to blow up the WTC. When the first "God is Great" Islamic nuclear missle rains down on Berlin, Schroeder my have some second thoughts on his strategy.

Why should he concede...?

The europesants will do what they are told by whomever has the microphone at the moment, especially the Germans.

Just tell them "I WON, NOW PISS OFF" and they will.

They are so screwed up over there that it will take a year for them to figure out which party got which votes. In the interim the socialists will continue to run the place face first into the mud of failed history.

598-seat lower house of parliament

Our House of Representatives has 435 seats by law. The CIA Factbook says U.S. population is 295.7 Million while Germany's is 82.4 Million.

So, U.S. has roughly 3.5 times more people than Germany, with a much smaller body of legislators.

In fact, having the equivalent of Germany's lower house of parliment would mean we would have 2,872 Representatives in Washington D.C.! Can you imagine?

NOTHING would get done! And it would be really expensive as all get out to support these windbags...

Merkel came very close to pulling off the coalition.

In Germany you don't need 50 percent to have a majority in parliament because the andere got 4 percent and they didn't win any seats.

Merkel/fdp got around 46 percent and 48 percent would have put them over the top in parliament.

300 seats wre needed they got 282, the seats in parliament were much closer than the percentage. 9 seats going from schroader coalition to merkel coalition and there is no hung parliament.

Sky News in the UK is reporting that one projection by a German TV network has Schroeder's SPD having the most votes when all votes are counted, giving him the first right to form a coalition.
