Story

From Knight-Ridder 9.13.05
"Blasting federal officials for a "lack of urgency and lack of respect," Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco said Tuesday that the state would seize control of the task of recovering the bodies of Hurricane Katrina victims. 'In death, as in life, our people deserve more respect than they have received,' Blanco told reporters before convening a cabinet meeting."

Respect for the dead, guvna? Laughable it wasn't so morose.

As will all negligent, corrupt, incompetent liberals, she is floundering. She is trying to run, but she cannot hide...

From the article:

When asked if the governor requested a background check on the company, (La DHH representative Bob) Johannessen replied he didn't know.

I'm sure Gov. Blankhead has a whole staff of people dedicated to nothing but finding companies like this to do "business" with LA.

The RAT party in LA is, has been, and will continue to be, a criminal enterprise.

Looks like the Gov wanted this company:

The state Department of Health and Hospitals says it was unaware of the company's legal troubles and was only doing what the governor had asked.

"We're going to do what the governor's office ask us to do," said DHH representative Bob Johannessen. "They wanted this firm to work here and we facilitated to have that contract signed."

No wonder her office told FEMA to leave the body collection to LA.

What's with then turning around and bashing FEMA, though? Takes brains, Blanco...

Article states official death toll is 474.

Article also states about 400 of these are stored at two locations in Baton Rouge (already been recovered).

Contractor estimates charges during first 30 days of over $600,000

Something's not right with this math.

Tony Coehlo I can believe.

But, what's up with A. J. Foyt?
He's on the board, too.

I saw that, too. Board member in name only? If I were Foyt, I'd start paying a bit more attention.
