The threat of the radical Islamists taking over Europe is every bit as great to the United States as was the threat of the Nazis taking over Europe in the 1940s. We cannot afford to lose Europe. We cannot afford to see Europe transformed into a launching pad for Islamist jihad. While we in the United States and Europe have vast resources for protecting ourselves, we have thought ourselves into a position of near impotence. Beyond the growing number of Muslims committed to terrorism is the threat from the Islamic diaspora's growing cultural and religious assertiveness -- particularly in largely secular Europe, where Muslim cultural assimilation has not occurred. It is beginning to dawn on Europeans that the combination of a shrinking ethnic-European population and an expanding, culturally assertive Muslim population might lead to the fall of Western civilization in Europe within a century. This phenomenon, called Eurabia, is viewed with growing fatalism both in Europe and in America. Such fatalism, however, is premature. Last November, an Islamist terrorist's butchering of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh, who had made a movie revealing abuse of Muslim women, aroused deep fears in Holland and across the Continent. The public anger, which included the burning of mosques in traditionally tolerant Holland, is evidence that the European instinct for survival has not been fully extinguished. But that survival instinct is threatened by the multiculturalism and political correctness advocated in media and academe -- and institutionalized in national and European Union laws and regulations for half a century.

Send this to those who try to tell us that fighting for control of the Middle East (and that is why we are really in Iraq) is an unnecessary war, If we win, the terrorist nations of Iran, Syria et al. will give in and slow down, if not stop, their terrorist funding. There's more evidence that Europeans lack the will to survive. And this is not lost on their enemies (whom they also lack the will to recognize).

This is pure DECADENCE. Nothing else. It is a disease that has infected Europe and the Leftist enclaves of America like The Black Plague and, unless cured, will prove far more destructive. The Black Plague merely devastated Europe. This Plague of Decadence will destroy Europe--and America also if the Left should succeed.
None of this is lost on the enemies of Western Civilization--notably Islamic fanatics.
It is also not lost on the worldly-wise Chinese.
The question is whether or not Europeans will wake up in time to save themselves.

Well said in just a few short words.
It's almost as if they cannot escape their fate.
However--we can escape our fate. It depends upon overcoming hubris and denial, something the Europeans show no evidence of attempting.
European history began with tales of horrifying tragedy resulting from hubris and denial. It looks like it might end the same way.
Meanwhile, the rest of us, like a Greek chorus, continue to shout warnings to ears, deafened by denial.
In no way is Islam a religion. It is a vile political system hiding behind the trappings of religion. It should not be allowed the protection that is given to real religions.
Bull. We can easily afford to lose (useless) Europe. What we can't afford is the Islamists having a larger, more varied base from which to attack us.
Don't stop now. The battle is growing fiercer.

Europe's effort at cultural tolerance since World War II slowly morphed into a surprisingly deep self-loathing of Western culture that denied the instinct for cultural and national self-defense.
The rise of the Islamists and the Muslim threat coincide with the pretend-demise of Communism and the USSR. The Communists are still behind both movements and are using deception to undermine and destroy the West.
At home they are reeducating our youth with Communist lies and pushing Christianity out of public places. Political correctness and multiculturalism are to damp our will to fight for what is right and to cause us to question our own honored history and purpose.
Does the feminist movement really support women? Only those who would destroy the family. The Clintons are a good example. Slick is making a mockery of his family and Hillary is selling the idea it takes a collective, the village, to raise children.
Does the NAACP really support blacks? Only those who will separate themselves from whites and become a violent disruptive force in our society.
Do the teachers unions support educating our kids? The answer is in the finished product and it is no. They just want the teachers' money to further Communism. The same is true of all unions.
Do trial lawyers want to protect the unwary from evil big business? No. They want to cripple free enterprise, raise money for the Communistic Democrats, and limit our freedoms by making us afraid to do many things that were once common.
The Islamists are a real threat but they are just an extension of the Communist movement. They are surrogates who will be destroyed by the millions if the Communists achieve power.
Keep up the good fight, backhoe.
