DFU SONG: We Don't Need Another Hero (not Thunderdome...RATS stop supplies to Superdome)
DFU SONGS | 9-2005 | Lyrics, Doug from Upland

Posted on 09/07/2005 9:07:05 PM PDT by doug from upland

MIDI - WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER HERO

We have it all planned...the fires we'll fan
Press pals will blame it all on Bush
It is all laid out...just watch how it plays out
From all directions we will push

Bobby will launch a blow...sit back and watch the show...now
We'll stab George in the back and claim that he hates blacks
We will scream that he's a zero...we will stop Salvation Army trucks
They will not get their supplies to the Superdome

Partisan warfare...do you think we care
Without our power we feel dead
This is a battle...and his cage we'll rattle
Psychotic hatred must be fed

Howard will give his scream...he's whacked-out as it seems...yeah
Hillary, wicked witch, will prove that she's a b*tch
All together now -- we will scream that he's a zero...we will stop Salvation Army trucks
They will not get their supplies to the Superdome

Our power was taken away...in 1994
We don't like the way things have gone since then
You d*mn neo-cons, you will see what's in store

We will scream that he's a zero...we will stop Salvation Army trucks
They will not get their supplies to the Superdome

We will scream that he's a zero...we will stop Salvation Army trucks
They will not get their supplies to the Superdome

Did Blanco attempt genocide at Superdome?
Ramblings' Journal ^ | 9.7.05 | Michael King

The Red Cross has confirmed to Fox News Channel's Major Garrett that they had requested permission to take food and medical supplies to the Louisiana Superdome in the hours immediately after Hurricane Katrina's landfall. That request was denied by none other than Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco.

Garrett appeared on Hugh Hewitt's syndicated radio program this evening to discuss the shocking revelation.

MG: Well, the Red Cross, Hugh, had pre-positioned a literal vanguard of trucks with water, food, blankets and hygiene items. They're not really big into medical response items, but those are the three biggies that we saw people at the New Orleans Superdom, and the convention center, needing most accutely. And all of us in America, I think, reasonably asked ourselves, geez. You know, I watch hurricanes all the time. And I see correspondents standing among rubble and refugees and evacuaees. But I always either see that Red Cross or Salvation Army truck nearby. Why don't I see that?
HH: And the answer is?

MG: The answer is the Louisiana Department of Homeland Security, that is the state agency responsible for that state's homeland security, told the Red Cross explicitly, you cannot come.

HH: Now Major Garrett, on what day did they block the delivery? Do you know specifically?

MG: I am told by the Red Cross, immediately after the storm passed.

The Louisiana Department of Homeland Security is directly under the command and direction of Governor Kathleen Blanco. The same Kathleen Blanco who has whined and blamed the federal government from her perch in Baton Rouge throughout this entire crisis. The same Kathleen Blanco who has stared at cameras with deer-in-headlight-glazed eyes since Hurricane Katrina made landfall. The same Kathleen Blanco who, after being asked about federal help prior to landfall said, "No." The same Kathleen Blanco who rescinded Mayor Ray Nagin's order to completely evacuate the city due to dangerous conditions just today.
Was Kathleen Blanco's goal the death of as many of those in the Superdome as possible?

Dean: Race Played a Role in Katrina Deaths

Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005 11:00 p.m. EDT Dean: Race Played a Role in Katrina Deaths

Race was a factor in the death toll from Hurricane Katrina, Howard Dean told members of the National Baptist Convention of America on Wednesday at the group's annual meeting.

Dean, chairman of the Democratic party, made the comments to the Baptists' Political and Social Justice Commission. The Baptist Convention, with an estimated 3.5 million members, is one of the largest black religious groups in the country. "We must ... come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a deadly role in who survived and who did not," Dean said.

Dean said Americans have a moral responsibility to not ignore the devastating damage caused by Hurricane Katrina when it struck the Gulf Coast.

The former presidential candidate said the government will be judged by how it treats the old, the young and the poor.

"People are poor in different parts of the country. They are not refugees. They are Americans," he said.

Dean said that instead of considering proposed estate tax breaks, the Senate should channel the money into disaster relief.

"Shall we give that to the wealthiest people in the country, or should we rebuild New Orleans?" Dean said.

Dean also urged the government to exempt victims of Hurricane Katrina from a stricter new bankruptcy law for one year.

Ken Mehlman, Dean's counterpart at the Republican National Committee, said he hoped Dean "will match his rhetoric with his support for reforms that replace bureaucracy and entitlement with hope and opportunity."

Stephen J. Thurston, president of the Baptist Convention, said there was a lack of response and sensitivity by the government following the Gulf Coast disaster.

Hillary Clinton Proposes Katrina Tax Hike
NewsMax ^ | 9/7/05 | NewsMax

Posted on 09/07/2005 7:09:29 PM PDT by wagglebee

2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said Wednesday that she favors rolling back the Bush tax cuts to fund reconstruction efforts in New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Asked where the money to rebuild the city should come from, Mrs. Clinton told NBC's "Today Show": "It comes from the first instance in not making those tax cuts for rich people like us permanent." "Let's get back to shared sacrifice," Clinton insisted, defending her tax hike plan. "Let's take care of each other. Let's plan for the future. Let's do what is necessary to put Americans first again."

Mrs. Clinton has consistently argued for a tax hike ever since she was elected to the Senate.

Last year she told a San Francisco audience: "We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

In 2003 Clinton argued for a tax hike to pay for the Iraq war.

In Nov. 2001, the former first lady blamed the 9/11 attacks on the Bush tax cuts, telling CNN: "If we hadn't passed the big tax cut last spring, that I believe undermined our fiscal responsibility and our ability to deal with this new threat of terrorism, we wouldn't be in the fix we're in today."

Semi-News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Blames Bush for Hurricane
AZCONSERVATIVE ^ | Aug 1, 2005 | John Semmens

Posted on 09/02/2005 2:29:54 PM PDT by John Semmens

Robert Kennedy Jr., attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council, blamed President’s Bush’s failure to sign the Kyoto Treaty for the damage done by Hurricane Katrina.

“The Kyoto Treaty clearly forbids hurricanes from coming ashore,” said Kennedy. “Without the protection of this vital document, the United States will continue to remain vulnerable to bad weather.”

Kennedy’s words were echoed by Juergen Trittin, Germany’s environment minister. “The increasing frequency of these storms can only be explained by America’s failure to sign the Kyoto Treaty,” said Trittin. “For this, I blame George Bush.”

Kennedy went on to demand immediate tax increases on all fuels, cessation of oil exploration, rationing of all energy supplies and the establishment of a Federal Climate Control Administration as the best way to prevent further cataclysmic storms from destroying civilization.

Doug, you were brilliant today on the Hannity show.

I'm sure thousands driving home in traffic in the NY/NJ/CT area nearly ran off the road, laughing themselves to tears. One of your best calls ever!

Ooops! Right, it was the Mark Levin show.

I remember thinking it was a shame that people all over the country couldn't hear your call on their car radios, since Mark isn't syndicated --yet.

But in case you didn't know, WABC has a very powerful signal and can be heard at least as far west as central Pennsylvania.

No way! The chorus does.

ALL THE CHILDREN SAY
WE DON`T NEED ANOTHER HERO
WE DON`T NEED TO KNOW THE WAY HOME
ALL WE WANT IS LIFE BEYOND
THUNDERDOME

Superdome is Thunderdome. And a lot of them were acting like children. Yeah I know it's easy for me to say, I'm not in their shoes however.........
Tell me who didn't want life beyond the Louisiana Thunderdome except the people who were shooting at the helicopters.
