Cenizo blooming usually means rain is in the forecast.

How exactly is this shithole booming except via government handouts. What kind of work is done there and what kind of jobs do it's residents go to or commute to?
Perhaps they go to agricultural jobs? But this feel good article says nothing.

It's a third world colony within our borders. Many residents are illegal aliens. The Mexican border moves 25 miles north each year

colonia, an unincorporated development with few municipal services So that's what a colonia is. Sounds a whole lot less painful than my first guess.

So that's what a colonia is. Sounds a whole lot less painful than my first guess. It's painful for the taxpayers that Texas
reams out to pay for upgrading these Mexican shanty towns to running water and paved streets

Say it isn't so. A 16 year old town boasting a 22 year old mayor,
with high poverty, badly built houses, several unpaved streets, gang graffiti and a strong Border Patrol presence. So... how strong is the Border Patrol "presence?"

It's painful for the taxpayers It's BEYOND PAINFUL for California taxpayers. We pay for these bloodsuckers to the tune of 10 BILLION dollars every year.
This is exactly why I and many others have jumped off the pandering GOP ship.

My understanding of
colonia was masses of illegal aliens voluntarily living in squalorous conditions because
(1.)that's what their used to, and
(2.)they're too ignorant to imagine living in better conditions. Those that know better gravitate to political positions and (in the Democrat tradition) use that squalor as a brickbat in order to extract federal money.
Deport everyone who retains alliegance to Mexico and those who fail to grasp the concept that the government doesn't owe them a living.
