A very nice description of what's going on north of Gulfport. Hattiesburg was my home for 4 years, up until a month ago. I'm grateful for the 'net, because without it I wouldn't know what was going on in the 'Burg.

It was my home for 3 years. It appears that nothing in that area will ever be the same again.

Sounds like a great place. I know Brett Favre donated quite a bit of personal money and is collecting more money to send down
there.

This is another good description of just how bad a store Katrina really was.

I lived there for a year back in 1981, while going to school at USM. I just found out today from video on
http://www.wlbt.com
just how bad it was hit. Hattiesburg is about 80-90 miles from the coast so I never thought it would get hit as bad as it did.

From what I'm hearing and seeing, Hattiesburg was the 3rd worst hit after NO and the MS Gulf Coast.
I have friends and family that are still there.... so far, everyone I've been able to talk to is okay, thank goodness.
