We've just learned (and so has Osama B.L.) that we aren't so super-power when it comes to a true dissater on a massive scale.

Let's keep some perspective; it has been all of three days. The city is near-inaccessible. Emergency personnel are doing a remarkable job under extremely difficult circumstances. And of course the media focuses on the negatives. While they are reporting problems and sheer rumors, real work is being done to fix things.

I agree with you, but there are some tough questions to be answered nevertheless, including why, with our incredible engineering and technology skills, the levees weren't built to hold up. Surely someone, somewhere did a computer modeling study of exactly what the levess could withstand. I'm willing to bet that there is a person out there who repeatedly warned about such a dissaster who wasn't listened to.
