Abu Simbel's move was a UN effort (from when the UN had some value) and was not initiated or paid for by the Egyptian gov't.

Plenty of other archeological sites could not be moved.

Thank you for clarifying. I love archaeology and the loss of these historic areas, no matter where, is tragic.

Pasargard is a UNESCO Heritage site. Somehow I doubt the U.N. will stop this shameful destruction.
