August 28, 2005 -- Rep. Charles Rangel has suggested Vice President Dick Cheney may not be healthy enough to perform his duties. Rangel launched the bizarre attack in an NY1 interview Friday night. "Sometimes I don't even think Cheney is awake enough to know what's going on. [Defense Secretary Donald] Rumsfeld is the guy in Washington . . . running the country. "He [Cheney] is a sick man, you know," Rangel said. "He's got heart disease, but the disease is not restricted to that part of his body. He grunts a lot, so you never really know what he's thinking."

The entertaining part of this is that, heart trouble or no, Charlie is eleven years older than Dick. If I had to bet...Dick's more likely to attend Charlie's funeral than the other way around.

Rangel has a lot of nerve pointing out the fact that Cheney sometimes grunts.
Rangel's raspy voice sounds like that kid "Froggy" from the little rascals. He and Susan Estrich both sound like someone shoved a beltsander loaded with 80 grit sandpaper down their throats.

I don't think Cheney would ever want to be point man as President, nor do I think it would serve him well. He has done a fine job in his current position.
I would not be surprised to see him hitched to the next wagon, whomever that would be...but not as the front guy.

Funny, while surfing the radio dial, I heard this woman on Imus going on and on how it was Cheney running the show.
The "woman" was Maureen Dowd.
Charlie must not have gotten the memo that Cheney is running everything.
