Posted on 08/27/2005 8:05:55 PM PDT by NautiNurse

Hurricane warnings and watches are posted. Hurricane Katrina continues to strengthen in the Gulf of Mexico. The forecast models continue to converge upon New Orleans. However, all interests in the northern Gulf of Mexico should follow the path of this very large and dangerous storm, and be prepared for a major hurricane landfall. There have been reports of coastal animals leaving in droves for higher ground. Meanwhile, New Orleans continues to suggest that residents evacuate.

On a more positive note, I doubt that we'll be hearing much about Cindy Sheehan this week.

But, will this impact Greta's Aruba-all-the-time reports?

He's loading up his plane, warming up the engines. Wouldn't be a bit surprised if the presser is held on the tarmack.

And Blanco is most likely already on board...enjoying a beinget.

"I'm wondering if people are taking it less seriously because TWC et.al. ALWAYS hype these things so much.

You nailed it.

Just head a DJ from NO who says he is staying and has booked a room at the NO Hilton..high up.

IMO, IF the Hilton is left standing, then all he has to contend with is to wait for someone to airdrop him some food and water. No electricity (TV, phone, internet..ELEVATORS), no air conditioning, no water and no way to flush a toilet. No thanks..

That DJ had better be fully-compensated for taking that kind of risk . . . like a fully-funded retirement plan.

They mentioned the liability of the Hotels....Once again, it is all about the legalities, not the lives.

WWL reporting large patch of dry air across southern/middle La., which would interact with Katrina to knock down the strength as it hits land. Also, prevailing winds might shift the eye slightly eastward.

Does the Mayor ALWAYS sound stoned?

He barely seems intelligent enough to READ the order.
