If President Bush would follow this advise, I think the wacky anti-war left would be blown away by public opinion from the sensible people of the center and right.

the war must be prosecuted with all the speed and force we can muster -- and that is more than we now use -- toward victory.

Spot on.

I hope President Bush is getting this kind of input in his daily briefings.

Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan....

Pretty much in that order.

Not to do so is to allow the enemy to slip back and forth into Cambodia and Laos. It is not bombing Hanoi.

This would be an excellent time for GWB & Cheney to go visit the troops in Iraq & Afghanistan.

I don't fault Bush's handling of Iraq, but I agree that it's well past time to deal with Syria. Would that overextend us? I don't think so. It would eradicate the bases that are being used to continue stirring up violence in Iraq, and it would remind the Islamists that we are not to be trifled with.

Sure, the leftist media would go berserk, but what could they say that they are not already saying?

W's problem is his decency. A more Machiavellian president might have permitted a few more terror incidents in the US to help gel public support for the GWOT>

God bless our President, but he hasn't communicated very well regarding this war. This article is correct in that regular Americans are willing to do their part to win. But the President has to tell us who he believes we are fighting and what is our strategy to win.

"Religion of Peace?"

"War on Terror?"

Baloney! I know some 90 year old grandmothers that know better than that.

There are certain people, believers in the Quran and followers of Mohammed that mean to kill, convert, or subjugate us.

In some ways, our enemy behaves like a disease. And in some ways we need to fight it like a disease. We are fighting an unconventional enemy with conventional thinking and conventional weapons. What we are doing in Iraq may be part of the solution, but it certainly isn't all of it. Ultimately, this is a war of religion. I didn't come up with that idea...or enemy has told us that and they have shown us by their actions. And we cannot kill a religion with conventional weapons.

Tell me I am old fashioned but I thought leaders were supposed to lead, not follow.
