If Shaffer and the others involved in Able Danger didn't produce multiple copies and place them in a number of different places for safekeeping, I would be very surprised. Shaffer has indicated that there is a woman who is ready to come forward, I would think she has copies.

p.s. Why isn't Burglar a poster boy by now. . .I would be happy to put 'wanted' poster of this man, with paper suffed in socks et al. . .on my car. . .on supermarket and community message boards; and add to the 'most wanted' at the post office.
Now that I think aout it. . .I can do just that by making my own.
Just need a really good picture. . .

"or electronically stored on a memory stick hidden someplace."
Cannot begin to imagine 'where' this might find safe haven from the truth. . .but there are some awful possibilities, no doubt.

A shredder and a low paid employee work much better that Sandy.

Hasn't Col. Shaffer learned anything? They're behind the copy machine, of course. Just ask Bill Richardson.
Why do I invest my emotions in wanting the clintons to get theirs? It's just too draining.

Commission spokesman have said they have found nothing that mentioned Atta by name.
Said "spokesman" (notice, not plural) is parsing his or her language. That is akin to saying "there is not a shred of evidence." He or she probably either "found nothing" because that person didn't look or knows that anything that mentioned Atta by name has been dealt with.

/'private' treasures?

Imagine the results if, instead of the Pizza Bomber Mystery; Geraldo (and FoxNews) had decided to do an investigative special called the 'Stuffed Pants Caper' . . .

there is an undercurrent of corruption in Washington that applies to both Dems and Pubs Protecting each other has become a bigger priority than protecting you and I.

When Tony Snow had Lt. Col. Shaffer on last week. I know I heard Tony say that they had some documents. I saw this interview also. Didn't Lt. Col. Shaffer say during that interview that the 2 briefcases full of documents that were given to the commission only represented 1/20th of the total? Does this story then mean that what amounts to 20 briefcases full of documents have just disappeared?!

There is absolutely no doubt about that, in fact I think you could realistically leave of the "to an extent."
People in Washington live in CYA mode...and careerists are even worse then the elected. In fact, the less time you've been there, the cleaner your likely to be, imo.

"Berger stole from the archives, I see no evidence in this article indicating these documents are missing from the archives." Berger GOT CAUGHT when he stole from one archive. A reasonable person would not discount the likelihood of a man of Berger's character having stolen many other incriminating documents from various sources without getting caught.
When classified intelligence documents go missing, the convicted Berger is now "ONE OF THE USUAL SUSPECTS" - who should be rounded up. Until a full investigation is conducted of all archives Berger visited and all terrorist related documents he had access to, we should not be so quick to give him a pass.

Yes, I heard the same; but that was 'then' and this is 'now'.
They have not asked Shaffer or any other AD team member - and they have yet to identify themselves publicly as far as I know. . .for help in finding critical info either. But with the right help; one could say - 'nope; there not there!'
And the MSM would pretend to yawn. . .

Did someone borrowed Ollie's shredder? Sorry, bad joke.
But we may just have another scandal of that magnitude here.

That's just the thing. It isn't possible. Whenever something is removed, trace indications are consistently left that it once existed and is now gone. This is true of classified documents, computer data, the works. Knowing what a pack rat the military is, I suspect you are correct, and something will be found.
However remember that this was largely a computerized operation, and even a few backup copies of terabytes of info can be over written, and the devices pressed into service for payroll records or supply orders. Nobody has time or money to try to go thru every reel of tape, every obsolete disk drive stored in some dusty warehouse on the back lot of some military archives.
I hope the backup copies were not here:
