Cindy Sheehan: America "a country that always supports war and killing."
NY Sun ^ | 8/17/05 | Josh Gerstein

Posted on 08/17/2005 12:09:02 PM PDT by LarryDeRobio

While claiming to be trying to re-focus her protest back on her demand for another meeting with Bush, expressing a desire to get away from the distractions of her other views, and suggesting that the left-wing groups assisting her move to the sidelines, she was at it again in a conference call with reporters managed by MoveOn.

Good quote -- very appropriate in this case!

If that were true, she would not still be living.

In fact, if she were a citizen in the country where her son died, she would have been tortured and killed for her words against the state IF NOT FOR THE ACTIONS OF THIS COUNTRY AND HER SON.

Preaching the choir here ....

In truth, the USA's long held bias as a people is to shy away from war. We are the aces of kicking the can down the road. We can blame are English Country Party roots for this attitude. It really chaps my hide when Marxist ideologues among Western peoples try to paint us as some Clausewitzian, Napoleonic scourge. If anything, we might could use a dose of Von Clausewitz as a people. Might make us more proactive for once!

Some news outlets, such as the liberal Salon.com, were allowed to put two or more questions to Ms. Sheehan, while other organizations were not permitted to ask questions at all.

Isn't that special?

Ms. Sheehan described herself as a Democrat and a liberal but said she does not view her protest as political.

She's trying to influence a war and is the darling of our enemies but it's not political!

The political action branch of MoveOn.org that is coordinating the vigils said on its Web site that all of its activities "are considered partisan under the law." The group counseled those holding vigils not to use the resources or facilities of nonprofit organizations, whose tax status could be jeopardized by political activity. The advice is confusing because one of the groups identified as a backer of tonight's vigils, TrueMajority, is part of an organization called Priorities Incorporated, which describes itself as "non-profit" and "non-partisan."

Do you yhink FRs digging hit a nerve?

She's had a breakdown.

The left needs to be held accountable for pushing her too far. There is one thing to use people, then there is another to callously disregard the mental status and fragile personality in the quest for power.

I have nothing but sympathy and pity for her.

Do you know the old joke about where "sympathy" is found in the dictionary?

This woman know exactly what she's doing. Her politics have never changed.

Surprise, Surprise. Nobody in the MSM has mentioned any of her views.

I have read much about this traitor. She has been a long time anti-war, anti-US leftist. I have absolutely NO sympathy for her and I have absolutely NO pity for her. Everyday by her actions she is putting our brave Warriors at risk with her encouragement of the terrorists? Have you read her quotes about how the US has been terrorizing people since its inception? She is not be used. She is willingly doing as much damage to our effort as she can. I have contempt for her and her supporters. Evil has taken over her soul.

"The left needs to be held accountable for pushing her too far...fragile personality...I have nothing but sympathy and pity for her."

She contacted MoveOn last year to be in the anti-Bush ads; she contacted anti-war groups to get involved; she contacted Code Pink for assistance; she went to speak with Lynne Stewart. She needs to be held accountable.

Have you read her stuff? This woman is anything but fragile, and the fact that she is exploiting the sympathy of an entire nation to push an agenda and to shame her critics makes her unworthy of sympathy or pity.

Maybe it's just what happens when an extremely ill-informed and ignorant person who is also very arrogant, finds herself in the spotlight. There are a very large number of such people, but fortunately for the rest of us, we will never know about them.

You know, I think Cindy is the best ally the GOP has. She just doesn't know it.

"The group counseled those holding vigils not to use the resources or facilities of nonprofit organizations, whose tax status could be jeopardized by political activity."

I'm shocked that they put this out there. They've got to be nervous about it. If only the Bush administration would use the IRS like Clinton's did many of these groups would lose their tax-exempt status for blatant violations of the tax code.

During the hour-long conference call, Ms. Sheehan referred to America as "a country that always supports war and killing." She also suggested that the war in Iraq is part of an American effort to achieve dominance in the region. "This is going to be an eternal war of imperialism fought in the Middle East," she said.

"Why are you sliming me and smearing me?" she asked.

BECAUSE YOU ARE AN ANTI-AMERICAN KOOK WHO WANTS US TO LOSE.
