Herndon Council Expects to Vote Tonight on Day Labor Site
WMAL Radio ^

HERNDON, Va. (AP) - The Herndon Town Council is expected to vote tonight on whether to approve a day labor site.

The vote was originally scheduled to take place last night but so many people signed up to speak out about it that it had to be pushed back until today.

At issue is whether the town should spend $170,000 to build a center for the day laborers to wait for work. Currently, about 150 laborers gather daily outside a downtown Herndon convenience store.

Supporters of the site say it would provide a safe gathering place for people who are willing to do undesirable jobs for low pay. Opponents say most of the day laborers are in the U.S. illegally and tax dollars shouldn't be used to build such a facility.

Can a group of unemployed Americans go and wait for work? Probably not. The police probably would think something is up! Americans will work but not for slave wages. There are employers who would pay as little as possible. If they could pay nothing they'd love it.

No money should be spent on aiding and abetting illegal aliens.

They sound like they're advocating for slave labor (or as close to slave labor as they can get).

Americans are finally discovering they still have a voice (no matter how faint) as to whether or not they will lay down and allow this invasion to run right over them without a fight . .

Herndon shouldn't spend a dime on them. Immigration should be rounded up and deported...now. Also, deport the judges and lawyers too. Let them come here legally.

Don't build anything, call the USBP...oh wait, hehehe right. Call the Minutemen, with them will come the MSM, once it's live on camera with "vigiliantes" there, our gubmint which is soooo concerned about border security will make the USBP get there quickly.

Listened again on the WMAL-Radio streaming web last night about this--brought me much closer to the contentious action in Herndon, VA than otherwise possible.

Some dimwit liberal got on WMAL there, supporting this idea of a "Taxpayer Subsidized Hiring Center for Day Workers". He said he was a local 'contractor' and had in fact driven to that 7-Eleven site and had hired some of the workers, and would do so again (he did not say if he knew they were illegal or not, nor did he care).

And then he let slip THIS little gem (paraphrase):

"Hey, look, it's a neat little system them have down there. You drive down there, guys of course swarm up to your car. But they have a security guard right there at the 7-Eleven, and he directs you to this guy or that guy to pick. For example, he told me, 'hey, don't hire that guy, he's out on a drug violation', and other stuff so he helps you pick the good ones and the guys you should hire."

Brilliant. Just great. Sheesh. The guy RIGHT THERE indicted himself on the radio around the world, live, indicting the whole 7-Eleven Illegal Alien hangout in that town, as being a place where a) indeed criminals are known to gather; and b) somebody is officially paying a person to screen and assist/faciliate in hiring illegal aliens. It's on 7-Eleven property; is 7Eleven Corporation in violation of Federal law against assisting in the hiring of illegal immigrants???

Can anyone back in Virginia near this area find out who that security guard works for or who pays him? Some heck could really be raised about this.

By my calculation, the taxpayers of that town have (or will be) signing on to a plan to just GIVE AWAY $1,100 of their tax dollars per illegal alien just hanging around in that town. What ELSE do they give them as freebies (health services, social services, education, bilingual help)? This is frikkin insane.

If you want to have a "little fun", drive around with a 35mm camera and take a few pics of some obviously illegal Mexican laborers. Beleive me you will get the bosses attention. If they question you just say "I am doing some research". Watch em squirm!!!

I spoke one on one with an "illegal Mexican alien" at the bar last night. I asked him why so many illegals were coming across and that there was still a shortage of "cucumber pickers". The answer was "We don't have to do that sheet anymore, we can get construction jobs". Sure said a lot to me. I would hate to have to bid against the jerk that is hiring these "under the table and tax free" illegals. I have kids and hope they don't have to compete with third world labor rates in the future.l

What would your reaction be if you found out that Amercian tax dollars are being used to build and staff "DAY LABOR" CENTERS for the purpose of providing work outlets for labor provided by illegal aliens?
