It's part of your religious practice that you place verses from your sacred texts on motor vehicle registration plates? What about all the adherents that can't get JOHN316 plates (1 per state), are they going to hell?

I'll guess that free exercise has a different meaning than you think it does.

It isn't free. They charge real money for the vanity plates.
