Love Toronto, love the downtown, the Royal York, the lake, etc. Sometimes politicians on both sides of our border blow off for local consumption. If I were the US ambassador, I'd take a two week vacation, in Calgary.

Especially the CN Tower - now North America's tallest building. If Toronto is too "Eastern European" for you in its architectural appearance, you can always head for Montreal and soak in the ambiance of Little France by the St. Lawrence.
