its "sounds" good, only pay tax once... but you are actually paying the Fair tax twice! Your goods will already have a tax built into the price, because the company had to pay the tax for their "materials" i.e. steel, paper, ink or whatever... then you will pay the tax again when you buy it. The fair tax will increase crime and black market. Robberies and black markets would increase. Trains sitting on tracks unattended carrying, TV's, radios, dishwasher, and refrigerators. would be subject to looters for sale on the black markets. Flat Tax is the best idea I have seen.

Corporations will be tax free. No taxes to embed into prices. Prices should drop 20-25%. Pay the 23% at the cash register and it's the same price.

If Wal-mart can sell something 20-25% less they will and the competition will follow.

You really should read the book and the legislation itself.

Sorry you are just plain misinformed on this one.

Business to business purchase are not taxed under the FairTax legislation. It is a pure RETAIL sales tax. All federal business/corporate income and payroll (SS/Medicare) taxes are repealed by the bill, and only a single stage, single rate RETAIL sales tax is implemented to be collected at point of sale and remitted to the local state sales tax administators in parallel with state sales taxes.

Got it bassackwards, E.T. It's the income tax that has tax cossts embedded in rices, not the FairTax.
