Is he forced to retire with the increased rank money intact? Tough life huh.

This guy was a 4-star general. They don't just retire, go home, and grow petunias. They go on to be mayors and city managers, members of the board of fortune 500 companies, etc. How many corporations do you think are going to hire a guy who got quite publicly relieved at the very end of his career? Not many. How many elections do you think the guy can win? All his opponent has to do is keep bringing up the fact that he got relieved for cause.

It's a bit more than a wrist slap.

Now, if only the general had been having a gay affair, he would never have been fired. . .

True. And I hope that if he did try and run for office an opponent woud be bright enough to use that little bit of info. Hey, he was a general, and he knew the rules and regs on that subject. Standards have to be higher for people in his position.

This guy will be on some board within six months. He will have enough buddies out there who get him a decent board job...maybe not the $250k per year deal...but he will at least get a $100k board job, and start to work other deals within twelve months. By 2008, you will find him back in the fortune 500 group and working various deals...and probably still dating other guys wives.
