Jeanine F. Pirro, the new Republican challenger for Hillary Rodham Clinton's Senate seat, said yesterday that she opposed the procedure that critics call partial-birth abortion, after taking a muddier stance on the issue four years ago.
Ms. Pirro, a favorite of moderate Republicans whose new position will probably help her woo the conservative voters she needs, said in an interview that she decided to oppose the procedure - except to protect the life of the woman - after researching and reflecting on the issue.But Ms. Pirro drew harsh criticism yesterday from abortion-rights groups, who accused her of changing a position that she took during her last political race, in 2001.

This is the predictable give and take of electoral politics. In one simple move, Pirro has undone months of hard work by Hillary! repositioning herself as a moderate. Look for this to continue.
Pirro is a smart political operative. I think she will be able to completely dismantle the New! (and Improved!) Hillary! in a few short weeks, and this race can devolve to a contest between the Centrist Pirro and the 60s re-tred radical Hillary!, which is a winner for Pirro.

Living in NY, I've come to two conclusions.
First, so called Republican politicians for the most part, are really democ Rats in Republican clothing.
Secondly, you vote for the best of the worst.
NY's Republicans are Democrats, but their Democrats are Socialists! You pick the one farthest to the right and you cast your vote. Otherwise admit that you are an apathetic turd and just stay home. But don't try to make sitting on your a$$ sound like a noble endeavor.

Never mind about abortion. Abortion is none of government's business. Her personal opinion about abortion is no more relevant than anyone else's.
What New Yorkers should want to know is what is this woman's position on private property, on the U.N. on capitalism, the U. S. Constitution, foreign policy, individual rights, and national sovereignty.
These are the issues we send representatives to Washington to hash out, not whether we should smoke or have babies.
There have been anti Hillary operatives working with Republican strategists since the Clintons moved to NY. They know what they need to do to make sure that she is labeled what she really is, a Marxist.

What a conservative icon, what a bold stance she's taken! On the count of three, all the rhinos swoon together. 1 (she's got an "R" after her name), 2 (she's against late term abortion - still can't get over how bold that stand is), and 3 (she's against Hillary), swoooooooooon!
Regardless of whether she wins in the end, Pirro is messing up Clinton's national plans to become a moderate, and for that alone she deserves the support of conservatives.

but not any others. This is pure political opportunism. She has gotten a 100% rating from NARAL. You don't get that for
'dabbling' abortion. You've got to be a big fan.
