Maybe the fact that it's "not bothering her anymore," is the realization that despite her reluctance to be used, bravery and the character of the U.S. soldier was on display during her rescue.

Maybe she's not telling the truth about what doesn't bother her anymore.

Think Ira Hayes.

Ira Hayes was tormented by survivor's guilt. He didn't want to be treated like a star for pushing up a flag pole while his buddies were dying. He truly loathed everything connected to his government-induced/mandated celebrity - but not because his photographic image was being used to raise morale, as I understand it. He just didn't want to sleep at the Waldorf while his buddies were sleeping with one eye open in a hole in the ground.

Did Jessica Lynch have to go on the Today Show and other programs because the Army required her to? I honestly don't know. I always thought that stuff was to promote her book.

She presents sort of a mixed message, I think.

' It doesn't bother me anymore. It used to," she said.

"Now that I've got my money and my TV movie and money for college, it doesn't bother me at all," she said.
