This map shows the predicted (theoretical) travel times, in minutes, of the compressional (P) wave from the earthquake location to points around the globe. The travel times are computed using the spherically-symmetric IASP91 reference earth velocity model. The heavy black lines shown are the approximate distances to the P-wave shadow zone (103 to 140 degrees).

Tell me about this man - I just saw his name for the first time a couple of days ago. Then someone else said he was a wacko. What's your take?
I live on the west coast, so I have more than an academic interest in earth quakes.

Hmm - I also consider the world a lot stranger than most people think, so we may have some common ground here, as much as I loathe that phrase.
I'll check their site.

The reason I came to this thread was to ask if anyone knew what was going on in SW Montana. Looks like 4 days in a row of 3 point quakes in the same area. May be they are part of the big picture.
I'm going antelope hunting next week (Oregon). The only other tag I got 25 years ago I ended up on a ship going to Africa during that season. It took me 11 years to get this tag. Do you think you could hold off on anything big till I get back home.
