Washington -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., would do better than Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., against potential 2008 Republican presidential rivals John McCain and Rudolph Giuliani -- but would still lose, a Gallup Poll showed Wednesday.

I think she would fare better than Kucinich too... but I can't prove it.

Like Giuliani and McCain are going to past muster in primaries in the Red States. Not gonna happen.

Is the MSM's way of trying to convince Kerry not to run?

Kerry not to run?

May also be a way of trying to have the right let down their guard, thinking it's going to be a sure thing that hildie will be defeated.

John Kerry cannot win unless he signs his F-180 and he cant win if he does.

Never gonna happen. I won't be happy until I see Judy Woodruff trying to hold back her tears as she announces CNN projects Hillary's defeat.

Kerry's not happy.

Actually, I wish Kerry is the choice in 2008, it'll be fun to see history repeat itself.

Wait I thought the 2004 election was soooo close that the RATS thougth they really won it. Apparently not. This supposed 1008 election would be CLOSER but Hillary still lose. The only logically assumption is that the 2004 election was not all that close.

It is amazing to me how completely illogical these liberal journalists really are. Either that or they are just plain lazy in trying to rev up up these Hillary puff promos.

You can win the Super Bowl by one point or thirty points. Either way you still get a shiny trophy after the game.

It seems like these days if you lose a Presidential election your party is very reluctant to give you another shot.

They will never project the loss.  They'll do like they did in 2004 ... wait until the absolute last possible second and then announce at like 4:00am.

It'll still be fun though and I look forward to it.

Most likely. Even if she gets hammered in the Midwest they'll still hold off making the call until she concedes.

Of course... but it also shows that the MSM is still promoting McCain and ignoring any real, 2008 Republican candidates.

The references to George Allen I've seen so far, are few... and negative. They all know he's popular with informed, Republican voters... and unknown to the 'stupids'. It's the MSM's job to keep it that way.

If they had their way... you'd never hear about Allen, Brownback or Santorum until you saw their names in the voting booth.

A recent Gallup showed her running behind. This poll shows her running ahead.

Point is: If you write the paycheck for the polling organization, they can get the poll to say whatever you want it to say.

===

Until after the 06 election, all these polls and speculations and punditry and commentary is an exercise in futility.
