The blackbird syndrome.
The Blackbird Syndrome:
"the acerbic and often insightful Gene McCarthy once noted, the national press become "like blackbirds on a wire--when one flies away, all fly away."
Same disease seems to have affected gas station owners. One jacks his number, the rest follow by 2pm.
Well done. I will keep this quote handy as it says it all in one sentence.
Reporters talk amongst themselve and people like Matthews say "the buzz is" or "the talk is", and then Olberman and company can say "There have been reports..."
Olberman, btw, should be the subject of some kind of scientific investigation. I've never seen one person contradict himself so often with such gusto without having a clue he's doing it. Case in point: He accused the Bush Administration of treason for not correcting the Koran-in-toilet story, and now he accuses them of treason for attempting to correct the Wilson-sent-by-Cheney story.
Nobody is talking about the UN/Oil-For-Food scandal.
To the life of me, I don't understand why the WH keeps briefing this enemy combatants in ties and fake journalistic credentials about its inner workings! What goes on in the WH house is the President's and his trusted close associate's business, NOBODY ELSE'S!!
Loose lips sink ships.
Polls that are constructed based on desired outcome...sort of like 'When did you stop beating your wife'?.
