Mr. Bush can't very well come out and say the Chinese are a huge threat that we have to counteract whenever we get the chance now can he? I know that all of us would like for spades to always be called spades, but in real world politics, that would be stupid.

The Chinese do it to us all the time. They threaten to nuke our cities, and they mean it.

Americans would feel a lot more secure if Mr. Bush would acknowledge the serious position the last 3 presidents have put us in, with respect to China.

I don't buy it that he is just being a politician.

In addition, the new head of his economic council ADMITTED a few days ago that now that China is floating the yuan, we are going to be really hurt by rising prices from their goods. More startling was his admission that America was going to have to start manufacturing more of the goods we use ourselves. Isn't that great from an administration that keeps signing trade agreements, the latest being CAFTA that ASSURES that America cannot retain its manufacturing capabilities?
