WESLACO Minutemen may face more opposition in South Texas. Members of the Brown Berets were in town Wednesday to spread a message.
The group of militant Chicanos popular back in the 1960s said their group is still active in the Rio Grande Valley, addressing perceived threats to the Mexican-American community...
Members of Hidalgo Countys Democratic Party who also oppose the Minuteman Project welcomed the Brown Berets with open arms.
"They communicated to me there sincere intent in organized confrontation a physical confrontation against the minutemen,' said the county's Democratic party chairman Juan Maldonado.
[important note: from the video, here's the exact quote: "They have communicated with me their sincere interest in organizing a confrontation... a physical confrontation against the minutemen"]
Beret leader Delgado said the group does not get physical unless it have to -- but he has been shot twice. That, he said, is the reason members no longer wear the famed berets...

From the same source comes word that the MMP won't be in the Rio Grande Valley:

You are who you hang with.
I wonder whose side the US government will defend if the Minutemen and a bunch of crazed illegals get into a shootout. The answer may disgust most of us. The administration has already voiced their displeasure on the subject of the minutemen.
The enemy within. Democratic party chairman Juan Maldonado.
You're right
Meant to say, check out that site. See what real Americans of all color act like.
I have a box full of the erasers.
Lightweight racist punks, with Chinese made berets.
HAHA, you can say that again. Anyway though, I really would encourage everyone here to actively seek out "minority" groups that take common sense positions on illegal immigration. It is a good reminder that, despite how the media portrays it, we do have support. I'm trying to get the word about these two out there, so we can no longer be called an all white, racist group of vigilantes.

IMO do-gooders, globalists, businessmen are totally dedicated to free tradin' transfers of technology, wealth, and jobs to developing nations; and they are equally committed to encouraging developing countries' unlimited migrant labor, ILLEGAL or "guest."
It matters not one whit to them if that labor is ILLEGAL or "guest," it's all exactly the same to them; the only input citizens are allowed is which shall we call it.
It was no surprise to me when I heard Congressman Tancredo suggest that his colleagues, et al. in Washington expected problems in Arizona last April and were (my word) disappointed and concerned when there was no violence.
The Minutemen Project is real and Washington is deeply concerned. IMO it should turn more political and less border watchers as threats increase and the government does nothing but criticize them.
Koresh was just a "religious nut."
Imagine what the ruling class will do to citizens who get too nosey in something that the ruling class, New Democrat Third Way progressives and internationalist Republicans, are totally committed. It will gladly accept one, two. . or dozens of Wacos IMO.
Drain the D.C. swamp of slimy critters. Nov., 2006!
I'd also suggest trying to get the word out about these statements.
Contact the papers that did smear pieces on the MMP and suggest they cover this guy. And, do the same with the more popular blogs. Here's a list:
http://technorati.com/pop/blogs/
Only contact the political blogs of course.
Contact the TX Dem leadership and ask them to denounce their county chairman's remarks and ask them to fire him. There's a good chance they not only won't do that, they'll attempt to "explain" his remarks. That will only make them look worse.
Re: violent Democrats. Look at all the vandalism before the election. The anarchists. The eco-terrorists. Gangs. Plus half of their political leaders support the terrorists by 'loathing' our military. And they hate the idea of white men defending themselves, yet the Minute Man Project is actually mixed. They push hatred derived from ignorance to new barbaric levels and simultaneously claim to be sensitive and tolerant! What a croc!
Love your tag-line and have been doing that in Cal. for ten years or so.
