I'll start...

I like the sidebar - I like seeing the titles of Breaking News, and other news, when I check My Comments. What I DON'T like is those annoying polls at the top of the sidebar! I don't like polls; I don't particularly like to vote in them, so I don't like having to check one of the little squares just to move the *latest* one to the bottom of the sidebar. Whether we have Opinion Polls on the sidebar or not should be an option *we* can choose in our Preferences. At least I think so. :(

I have a rant.

I can't stand the libertarians in NYC. I was arguing with one yesterday who said that since random searches do not stop everything, we should not do them.

What the he** is wrong with these people? Are they brain dead? These are the same friggin people who would be shouting from the rooftops about how "Nothing was done, we were not protected enough blah blah blah" if something did happen!

Naturally, when I asked what he *WOULD* do he had no answers. Only "I believe in the Constitution and the 4th ammendment"

THE CONSTITUTION IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE YOU MORON!

Don't even get me started on the Liberals....

I rant all day every day at work. My co-workers are probably sick of me attempting to educate the liberals that I work with.

Therefore, I am ranted out. I love FR, it is a great place to get educated.

I had a boss once that said, "tell me your thoughts... " on this and that - CONSTANTLY.

I finally said, "We've been telling you OUR thoughts - it's time for you to actually tell us yours!"

He would use that as a ploy - because he never read any of the project papers and had no idea what was going on - he would cover by saying - "tell me yours thoughts" and then using your words.

I hated him.

A lot.

To me - he was a fraud.

When I think of my lot in life, I must say I have very little to rant about ~
but, for what it's worth, here's something that has ticked me off occasionally:

The snobbish disdained certain FReepers delight
in heaping on "Vanity" posts pretty much sucks.

"Vanity" is a recognized topic on this forum and,
as such, has a legitimacy that should render it immune
from the sort of bullying ridicule best served to trolls.

Generally speaking, "Vanity" posts are clearly labeled as such
so, if a person dislikes "Vanity" post, they are relatively easy to avoid.

Okay, yeah, I know some "Vanity" post are not clearly identified as such
but, what the heck ~ when it comes right down to it....

Including (actually especially) this!



Anyway, the way I see it
unless the "Vanity" post is also a troll post,
folks need to lighten up and quit picking
on FReepers with time to spare who merely desire to
share something with other possibly like mind souls.

Now, with that bit of silliness out of my system, I am going to go take a swim and reflect on how truly fortunate I am!

I am glad I was referred to this site. I can hear everyone rant and rave about all the things that get the best of me. Politicians refusing to do anything about the illegal immigration and the illegals invading this country and how we have allowed them to dictate policy. What has happened to Personal Responsibility,Integrity, accountability. What happened to this great country. I hate going out because all I do is rant and rave when I get back home about these people refusing speak English, and(no hable espanol? is what I am asked) bad mouthing our country. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. breathe, breathe.California Politicians can really set me off

YIKES! Need to clarify maybe! No, no, no! This is not inviting rants about this site (nor, I hope - an invitation to trolls, Zacs MoM!) - we all love this site.

The Finest is a daily thread with a different 'theme' or topic each day (often serious, but sometimes silly), but as our regulars have come to understand...always a friendly and fun place to get away from some of the other, more heated threads! Someone suggested we have a "Rant" day one day, so here it is. :)

P.S. My little rant is one I've written both Jim and John about more than once! LOL!

My pet peeve (such as it is) is similar to yours, ZsMom. Someone posts a topic and the thread is taking off with replies. Then some yahoo posts something along the lines of "I hate (this topic)" or "Who cares?" feeling he must announce this to the whole world yet adding nothing to the discussion. Grrrrr. Can they just not click on the thread in the first place?
