PHOENIX A federal judge in Phoenix has thrown out the deportation case against four young people who were brought to the U-S illegally when they were toddlers.
Their immigration status was discovered during a June 2002 trip to a high school science competition along the Canadian border.
The four, now in their early twenties, were competing in a solar-powered boat competition near Buffalo, New York, and wanted to make a side trip to Canada.
The immigration judge granted a request that key evidence be excluded from the case, ruling that border agents had questioned the students based on their Hispanic appearance.
The government is expected to appeal the case.
Advocates for immigrants say it is rare for students who aren't legal citizens to undergo deportation proceedings after spending most of their lives here.
NPR interviewed one of these illegals today - made him like he was a rock star. The attorney said they were singled out because of 'racial profiling'. It was a real barf bath ...
Lynch their parents and give them one week to apply for citizenship - or face deportation.
It must make you feel good knowing that you aren't alone in your support for those that violate the law.
Oh that's real nice. We have a statute of limitations on citizenship.
Yeah its rare and maybe it shouldn't be.
Where did they get SS numbers? Do they have someone elses birth certificates?
"NPR interviewed one of these illegals today - made him like he was a rock star."
I heard that, it was a real smooch-fest. Made me ill. We're supposed to feel so sorry for these poor unfortunates.
Alot of documents are forged but there is a booming business these days in Puerto Rico where real SS cards are being purchased from indigents. Since they have Hispanic names it's easy to sell those 'real' documents to illegals at premium prices.
Profiling seems to have worked this time..
Racial Profiling.
We are losing our freedom to think for ourselves one "phrase" at a time.
So what? If a bank robber is a tall black man in his twenties does that mean every white old lady gets stopped by the police to see if she's really a tall black man in his twenties?
We are losing our freedoms. We are giving in to this "politically correct" poopoo and we're stepping in it and saying "isn't that nice."
You misread my meaning. Or I mistyped my meaning.
If the perp is a certain race, color, gender, height, weight, then THAT should be who the police look for. Police are wasting their time 'randomly' searching people when it's only CERTAIN people who need to be looked at more closely than ALL people.
Random search WITH prejudice in otherwords.
