The Kosovar people have my sympathy. However, taking up common cause with the KLA, and Osama bin Laden is no way to keep it. It is illegal for a non-citizen to contribute to a presidential campaign, no matter who the candidate. It is illegal to export arms to foreign wars by lying about the purpose for their use. America has shed much blood and treasure to mediate the Serb and Kosovo dispute. Somehow the peacekeepers are now under threat from the Kosovars. This is biting the hands that saved them. If your only religion is Albania, then you are a very shallow man. Don't you have any curiosity about your maker and his destiny for your immortal soul?
KLA didn’t give radicals and terrorists a chance to cooperate with its members or be part of it. Please, it would be better if you try not to associate people of Kosova and KLA with Osama Bin Laden, for there has never been any connection between them. KLA was formed after 10 years of peaceful efforts from Kosovars to achieve peace and prosperity, and the main purpose of KLA was to create the republic of Kosova. If Serbs had offered before the 1998 to Kosovars the autonomy that Kosovo had it during Tito, there wouldn’t be the war that happened later on, but Serbs did not even care at all about the condition of Albanians in Kosovo; Kosovars-albanians were considered as slaves without any individual rights and without political, social and economic freedom.
I couldn’t go to regular schools, for I was an Albanian. During my first grade in elementary school, I remember, I had to go to my teacher’s home twice a week for 2-3 hours to study and learn some basic skills. I can’t describe everything because people, such as you who were born free, can’t understand or perhaps can’t imagine all miserable things that have happened to Kosovar-albanians.
I understand all what you’re saying, and I know that it is illegal for non-citizen to contribute to a presidential campaign, but he, Florim, is a citizen of the United States; he is a KosovarAlbanian-American. He didn’t lie to Americans, but he lied to Swiss authorities. According to one of the gallup’s poll, Albanians in general are the most pro-american people in the world, for they believe in freedom and democracy which play essential role in the US foreign policy and in Americans’ lives.
Peacekeepers are very respected in kosova, or more precisely, peacekeepers from countries such as the United States, UK, Germany and Canada are very respected because people of Kosovo honor other people with respect, but for them, respect is a thing that ought to be earned; Americans have earned the respect of Albanians, for Americans appreciate freedom and help others to achieve their freedom. There has never been a case where a peacekeeper in Kosova has been shot by Albanians. Most of incidences have occurred in northern part of Kosovo where French troops are stationed, and who doesn’t know the attitudes of French troops?
By examining who has won the elections in the last 15 years in Kosovo, one can understand the spirit of Kosovars. DLK headed by Ibrahim Rugova is one of the most respected political parties in Kosovo; DLK was the first one to oppose Serbian ruling in Kosovo; DLK is one of the most important party in Kosovo, and has contributed very much to establish the peace in the Balkans.
