20 criminal suspects released in Germany after top court ruling Document Actions 21/07/2005

Twenty criminal suspects have been released from German jails this week since the country's top court ruled that the implementation of a new EU extradition order was unconstitutional, the federal crime office (BKA) said.

All the suspects in question were wanted in European Union countries for serious crimes including murder and drug dealing, the BKA said. Their release was ordered after the federal constitutional court upheld the appeal of a suspected Al-Qaeda financier, Syrian-German businessman Mamoun Darkazanli, against his extradition to Spain.

The tribunal concurred with Darkazanli's argument that handing him over to Spanish authorities -- as permitted by the new EU policy -- would violate Germany's basic law. European officials said the court's refusal to extradite Darkazanli was a blow to Europe's efforts to combat terrorism.

But the German court said the EU warrant -- or specifically, the German law implementing it -- does not adequately protect its nationals from capricious prosecution in other countries. The BKA said that Darkazanli, who was freed from a jail in the nothern port city of Hamburg hours after the ruling Monday, was the only terror suspect released under the ruling this week

I knew that if I read long enought, eventually the "criminal suspects" would morph into terrorists.

And eventually all terrorists morph into muslims.

*yawn*

And yet we are supposed to allow American citizens to be tried in Belgium.

It's simple. Suck on the Teat of the West and live with all its benefits, but stay in the shadows. The Germans pride themselves with the fact that "they" are not a target for terrorists. After all they do NOT partake in combat or anti drug operations in Afghanistan, are not in Iraq and don’t even do much anywhere else for that matter. How is this related? The Germans had the terrorists from 9-11 living in their country. Today they know who many of these guys are, where they live, what they do. But as long as they are no threat to them, they let them live on. Live and let live is the motto. As long as the Germans don't do much, they don't become a target in the "Islamists" mind. You better believe that the BND, BVS and Polizei know who most of them are, but they won’t clean up unless they think they are at threat, THEN you hear about a major “Razia” where suddenly 150 people are arrested in one night.
