How's this? Wherever they stand!. I'm not a purist. Taking their leaders out with a Barrett would make them a headless mob. If they destroyed a city, then Mecca in Haj season, so as to be instructive. I realize how insesitive this seems..

I like your update. It reflects the times we're living in today. History repeating itself?

The conceit of every generation is that their experiences are unique. The left exacerbates this tendency by seeking to separate us from history as a means to improving society. However, regardless of what some may wish, we are pin-prick away from the tribal jungle. Ask the Japanese and/or Germans what 'total war' meant; consider this in light of the pacifist movement that took place in this country just a few years prior.

And that girls and boys is exactly why we will never have peace with these imbeciles until Mecca and Medina are distant radioactive memories.

Does seem to be a shit-load of attention, in fact at the UCH,

SO13 (terrorist unit) and SO19 (firearms unit) are at the scene, sniffer dogs are in the hospital and on the underpass adjecent to the hospital, police seen by Reuters to be coming into the hospital.

One question people have thrown around is the claim that they are only attacking London because of Iraq, then why has France broken up numerous cells? France did not support the Iraqi ' invasion.'

"There were also synagogue in the colonies as well." (vs) "And 99% of the people were Christians."

What you are missing is that those Christians probably felt no more kinship between their own sects than with the Jewish minorities in the colonies. Perhaps less kinship because theirs were competing interpretations of Christianity and Jews were a totally different entity.

What this all DOES represent is a desire and ability to live in relative peace regardless of religious differences; 'tolerance' was intended to go in all directions and to be received in turn.

What we are seeing today is one-way tolerance being repaid by callous aggression and we see it entirely from one single source - Islam.

(I'm giving the RC a pass because terrorism in it's name is limited to the UK and has far deeper roots)

"Perhaps we would take a cuddlier view of Islam if the so-called "moderate" Muslim community actually started policing the mosques where these vile monsters are being spawned. Until the Muslim community begins turning in their radical compadres and cleaning up their act, I have no patience for "the religion of peace"."

I totally agree. But demanding that religious leaders accept more responsibility for reining in their wilder brethren is a pretty long way from suggesting that all Muslims are terrorists.

Sometimes, I think people take the latter line because they don't want to think too hard about complicated issues :)

One of the unfortunate downside to a free and open place of exchange like Free Republic(especially where one can post anonymously) is that some of the nuttier, rabid, fringe, and knee-jerk posters can spam lots of irrational thought. The most vocal often are the least representative.

Artillery's post isn't necessarily so brilliant. Look at it from the opposite point of view. Consider that less than 1% of our population consists of policemen. But that less than 1% can be quite effective if it has the tacit support of 95% of the remaining 99% of the population. Anecdotal reports of friendships with muslims is valueless in assessing the problem.

How it is 'an incident' (not explosion) according to the BBC when a bus window was blown out? Did the window fairy come and remove them...

Also the site of a well-known jail. Interestingly, it is quite close to St. Paul's - apparently the site of another suspicious package.
