MSNBC reporting citizens saw men running away from dropped knapsacks in the tube before 2 detonations, people yelling 'stop them.'

There's a link on their website.

BBC was just reporting that train drivers on some of the lines are refusing to operate their trains.

Good. I heard talk on another thread to the effect that you had, um, gone away for a brief while. Glad it was unfounded.

Gone away how? Dead? Sentenced to a long term without parole? Down with the flu? Travelling to Mars in a clandestine USA space launch? Enlisted in the Army? In a rehab center? Landing on Normandy Beach for Operation Overlord? Involved in the CIA in a covert position? Going back to college? Entering a biosphere? Heading off to sea?

Allow me to reproduce your post here because you have spoken the truth, and I could not agree more with it and could not have said it better myself. I hope others will take a minute and read it themselves too. Thank you.

If Muslims nuke us, we nuke them. If they kill us we're not going to feel guilty and give them money for poverty programs or anything else. We're not going to "understand" them. When Muslims act like guests who pee on our carpets when invited to our homes, we'll throw them out. If when they're guest in our homes/countries and kill our families, we'll retaliate.

We're not going to take their rude antics anymore. If they nuke us, we nuke them. Period.

20 policemen going into hospital -- per sky news

Wonder if it is a person holding hostages or my fear because BBC keeps saying its not chemical, is that it is indeed an attempted chemical attack this morning.

There are way too many posters lately who seem determined to do just that (make Free Republic seem like a fringe group).

I wish Jim would let only designated people (like me) post.

(that's a joke for all the humorless people we've been seeing around here recently)

iconoclast: "Anyone putting forward the proposition that these murdering barbarians fit into any American's (Founding Fathers or otherwise) concept of religion is clearly several sandwiches shy of a picnic."

E Rocc: "Thomas Jefferson, speaking of Virginia's Act of Religious Freedom: '...an amendment was proposed by inserting the words, ‘Jesus Christ...the holy author of our religion,’ which was rejected ‘By a great majority in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and the Mohammedan, the Hindoo and the Infidel of every denomination.’ -- As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries." -Treaty with Tripol signed in 1976, proclaimed in 1797."

Our government wasn't founded on "the Christian religion", it was founded on the biblical worldview wherein our Framers merely recognized the self-evident (absolute) truths that man's rights and freedoms come from his Creator ( God ). They set the Constitution into place to guard those moral truths. The Constitution stands between us and our elected/appointed government officials effectively protecting us from them. (See my profile page).

Also see some of the comments in this thread, one of which I'm copying below:

The "Wall of Separation..." letter by Jefferson...(Rare Newspaper) AURORA GENERAL ADVERTISER ^ | Monday February 1, 1802 Posted on 06/22/2005 5:30:43 PM EDT by fight_truth_decay

[snip]

"Jefferson's letter is just that, a letter. He was not involved in the constitutional convention, and had nothing to do with the Bill of Rights -- being in France on both occasions. His letter was written 14 years after the Bill of Rights were adopted. And several of the states ratifying the Bill of Rights actually had official state religions. I am not obviously not arguing for a return to that, but the point is that if today's "separation of church and state" viewpoint existed back then, the Bill of Rights never would have been ratified by the states, including the states that had official religions. And a few days after writing this letter, Jefferson went to the House of Representatives for morning prayer, as he did frequently as president. But this is, nonetheless, a fascinating link.

Is this complete chaos or does it just look like that on TV?

I know. It seems there is more going on than we are hearing. Oh, those poor people in the hospital. Imagine being sick, or recovering from surgery with all this going on inside the hospital. The staff must be frantic and dealing with a lot of emotions.

BBC reporter just said "This is not over!"

Disagree: Iraq invasion was/ is the right thing to do. It is going very well, and we'll see the fruits of that effort in the coming years, say, about 2012 or so. The best chance to avoid ultimately destroying the whole of the Middle East and killing tens of millions of people is to allow them a chance to create more civilized culture there.

Iraq and Afghanistan is essential, though more work there is going to be needed, and though costly, the alternatives are even more costly - so this must be attempted.
