It's not going to make a difference in the amount of terrorism directed towards us. Maybe these Islamic idiots will do a better job outcasting the terrorist if they don't want see the complete destruction of Mecca and Medina. The war on terror is a Holy war no matter what we hear from our government. It's Islam v.s. every other religion on earth. Maybe we need to start treating it that way. If there are moderate Islamic leaders who don't want to see Mecca and Medina destroyed then maybe they will do more to stop world wide terrorism. If they don't then they should be considered the enemy as well.

I'll attempt to take this one on. I think the response should/would be massive. It's not as if we wouldn't do anything. All undocumented immigrants would be hunted down and deported. Border security would *finally* become the A-1 priority...you wouldn't get in until you have been cleared by 10 different government agencies. The ranks of the US and other Western militarys would swell to levels not seen since WW2. Nations like Syria, Pakistan, and Iran would be invaded unless they didn't throw themselves to the ground and give in to every demand we had to go in and hunt terrorists. There wouldn't be but maybe 1 or 2 Democrats left in Congress (Representing Berkeley and Boulder Colorado of course). There would probably be widespread mob rule in European cities as Europeans scoured their nations of Islamic immigrants who would not assimilate and the politicians who had allowed it.
...and we might even use a couple nukes here and there (but probably much more surgically than just to wipe out Mecca) to take care of Tora Bora like fortresses.

Who specifically will be in these fortresses that you have imagined, America nukers? You seem to be suggesting that we would simply continue doing what we are already doing, hunt down terrorists, but be a little more assertive about it...while US cities are in smoldering ruins.
