On top of a severe drought, France is fighting a plague of hundreds of thousands of locusts. The locusts are devouring everything from crops to window-box flowers, reported the Observer. "At the beginning they seem small, insignificant insects but they grow very quickly," said Aveyron region farmer Gerard Laussel. "They eat everything that is green, leaving only stalks, and when they have finished they leave some kind of scent so the cattle do not want to graze on what is left." The French environment ministry said drought could be felt across most of France, but it mostly impacted from the Atlantic Ocean to Paris. "There is nothing we can do for the 700 or 800 farmers affected," said Patrice Lemoux, an agriculture official. "The locust has no known predator and the only insecticides which might make a difference are banned."

The AP and UPI reported that the French Government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from Run, to Hide. The only two higher levels in France are Surrender and Collaborate. The raise was precipitated by a recent fire which destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively disabling their military.

The French are reaping what they have sowed!! The icing on the cake is the excrement placed on the leftovers so the cows won't eat it!! Really Biblical!!
Hell....Steam'em, dip in creamy sauce, chomp, chew and wash'em down with a nice white? red? wine. Hmmm....don't know if the meat is white or red!! or green for that matter!!
Call me when it is also frogs, boils, and large hail; then I'll cry for the frenchies -- maybe.

As we know, Chirac has boasted of France's culinary superiority. I'm sure their locusts are bigger than everyone elses...Call the sous chef.
Fry them and pour crapweasal sauce over them and eat them.
