I was flipping channels when this tripe was unfolding - pat "the bitter" buchanan was loathsome enough. Glad I didn't stay any longer. I value my blood pressure too much.

The RATS floated impeaching Rove yesterday, it is in their fondest dreams to bring down this good and decent president.

It AIN'T gonna happen.

The strategy is: try to get an investigation into the White House going. If the Republicans refuse, accuse the Republicans of a "coverup".

Uhhh, where to start. 1)They are always after Bush; and 2)they aren't even close to getting him. There is an investigation going on. Despite what the MSM says or does, at the end of the day it is the results of the investigation that will do the talking. But the MSM knows that and hates it. The MSM can't stand the fact that an investigator, a Federal Prosecutor, has been left with such an important matter. The MSM operates under the delusion that they and they alone run this country. As the MSM has lost power over the past ten or so years they have reacted like a petulant child. This is just more of the same. They can't accept that they don't control or run this country anymore.

There is no legal problem for Rove...Reporters in Washington have a gleam in their eye and smiles on their faces, and there's a reason for it...Pat Fitzgerald hasn't been digging for two years and judges haven't been sending reporters to jail because they don't have anything...

That's the problem with these open-ended special prosecutor investigations. They go on and on and on, chew up boatloads of taxpayer dollars, and rarely result in anything remotely worthwhile. Rarely is the core charge ever substantiated. Special prosecutors are not held accountable for their own activites and the proceedings are not transparent. So secrecy and selective leaks from those involved or caught up in the investigation create a climate of rampant speculation, often destroying the lives and careers of people who are innocent of any wrongdoing.

So does anyone know if there is a deadline for Fitzgerald to wrap things up, or will he just continue with this investigation for the rest of his natural life.

Right, they always pick a lame Republican and have them debate an energetic Democrat.

"Bush MAY be the focus"?

A better question: WHEN has there ever been
a doubt of that?

Is Berger going to jail? I thought he got some sweetheart deal in exchange for a guilty plea or some such.

...so the Bush administration "doesn't" participate in cover-ups? One of the first executive orders out of the Bush administration was to 'lock up' presidential papers and make them off limits to 'freedom of information act'. The (then) Democrat congress let it pass, too. Why would they want Clinton's laundry aired? Washington, they NAME is coverup.

"The focus had been on White House staff. Now, as Pat says, with this memo from the State Department about Wilson, about his wife, about the connection, it was brought onto Air Force One by Secretary Powell."

Was she covert? Did she meet the legal definition? If she wasn't, which she wasn't, then so what who discussed what. This administration has every right to defend themselves against slanderous claims.

Pat Buchanan is worse by far and away. He is the ultimate ego maniac and has NEVER EVER gotten over the fact that the Republican Party did not follow him over a cliff. Thus, he continues on with the attitude of punishing Republicans for not following him or doing EXACTLY what he would do. I was quite frankly shocked that Buchanan supported Bush during the last election.

If the Republicans refuse, accuse the Republicans of a "coverup".

I've heard the old Watergate mantra: "It's not the crime, it's the coverup" a few times in the last week. I expect to hear it a lot in the next few months.
