Out justice system is nuts. A former "friend" broke his wife's nose and smashed out some of her teeth, after stalking and kidnapping her... and he got deferred adjudication with one year of probation. If anyone thinks we don't have a two-tiered justice system they are nuts. One system for the well off, and one for the rest.

Unfortunately correct. I doubt a scuffle such as this in an upper middle class part of Fresno would have ended in arrest. If it did and the parents got a good criminal defense lawyer that handled juvenile cases than the girl would soon have been out of the slammer. Unfortunately there is deferential justice applied in some ways.
