Just a year out of law school, Hillary Clinton got an expert education in the political art of damage control, working for the House Watergate Committee where her job was to keep President Nixon's lawyers from introducing even worse abuses of power committed by President Kennedy.
So says Edward Klein, author of the runaway bestseller, "The Truth About Hillary."

Hillary Diane Rodham was assigned, Klein told the Fox News Channel's "The Big Story with John Gibson" on Thursday, "to come up with regulations that the president and his lawyers could not cross-examine any witnesses, thereby stopping Nixon from proving that whatever abuses he did were no worse than JFK's."
House Watergate Committee counsel John Doar - a Kennedy ally - put Hillary in charge of a group of historians who were researching the protocols of impeachment to see whether any previous president had committed worse crimes than Nixon.
"In fact, they found that [past presidents] had," Klein told Gibson. "And Hillary was ordered to suppress that report."
What had JFK done that was worse than Watergate?
"Kennedy had used the assassination of foreign leaders as an instrument of foreign policy," Klein noted - a crime "far worse" than even the most egregious allegations against Nixon.
Doar ordered Hillary to deep-six her report, to "lock it in a safe and never show anybody, including the chairman of the judiciary committee in the House," whom Doar was supposed to be working for.
As with extraneous evidence uncovered by her husband's impeachment probers 24-years later, Hillary's report on the crimes of the Kennedy administration was ordered sealed for 50 years, said Klein - till 2024.
Well then why is she still so d**m DUmb?
Hillary did effective damage control on Klein's book. "Heavy handed 101" must be her specialty.
Huh! So someone in the MSM actually IS giving Klein airtime.
There was an article earlier this week that accused Gibson of being part of some Hillary-driven coverup.
bump
That's insane. John Gibson is one of the most honest people out there! I think Ed Klein will be like a sleeper movie (all of a sudden he will be wanted to be seen by everyone).
Interesting!
What did the young Hillary learn? How to hide the facts and split the truth for personal gain.
Read the book and you will find how Hilliary has gotten so far up the food chain. In my opinion Hilliary has kept very good records and uses them to handle anyone who gets in her way.She is actually the brains behind Bill Master Ted Kennedy will not cross her under any circumstances because of his families skeletons.
How anyone in Washington on either side of the isle can call for anyones head is a sham. Only those stupid enough to surrender or some who are expendable will ever go down anymore. Politics in DC is right out of the Mafias Manual of Operations.
One of those inconvenient facts that historians neatly sweep under the rug.
Perhaps the single most unethical--and stupid--thing that Kennedy did was to order the assassination of Ngo Dinh Diem, President of South Vietnam and our close ally in the Vietnamese war. He did so partly, one suspects, because Diem was Catholic and one of JFK's principle concerns was to bend over backward to prove that his Catholicism (such as it was) had no influence on his conduct of the presidency.
That was a major turning point, which could be said to have lost the war, because it meant that Lyndon Johnson had to send in more troops and take over most of the fighting from the demoralized South Vietnamese. More Americans fighting instead of training our allies; more people drafted; more deaths; more grist for Jane Fonda, John Kerry and their pals to sabotage the war effort.
Interestingly, the truth about the assassination was revealed by the Pentagon Papers. The NY Times printed the whole damned thing as a supplement, and I must have been a glutton for punishment, because I sat there and read the whole damned thing.
What I learned was that JFK had assassinated Diem and committed all sorts of other foreign policy stupidities. But the headlines of the Times somehow made it seem that printing the Pentagon Papers was a glorious victory for the liberals, and that they somehow proved that Nixon was an evil man.
No such thing. There was nothing embarrassing to Nixon in the Pentagon papers, except that they were stolen under his watch by the Times and its friends. But there was plenty embarrassing to JFK. Somehow, it never made it into any of the headlines or the nightly news, which were busy every day bashing Tricky Dick.
"Kennedy had used the assassination of foreign leaders as an instrument of foreign policy,"
Right, that would be Diem... and then JFK pretended he didn't know anything about it...uh huh
Part right, part wrong.
I am reading the book now and have read past this section. Yes, a report was written on past Presidential abuses covering virtually all Presidents. This was ordered by Clinton's boss, John Doar. This report has been secreted away and is scheduled to be released in 2032 (or so).
The bigger story here is why the cover up?
The reason given in the book was to protect Teddy Kennedy. Remember, his clothes were barely dry from his midnight swimming at Chappaquiddick and he was considered as a possible future candidate to the WH. if the report was released that cast further shadows on the 'legacy of Camelot' then Teddy's career would be over faster then Mary Jo trying to survive in the backseat of Teddy's car.
Thanks for your report in post #12. I think very few of us read the Pentagon papers, or knew the truth.
Why do we have to wait until 2032? These are not State secrets. These are political secrets. If the report had a ghost of a chance of embarrassing a conservative, the left would be in the streets and on the air waves beating their breasts for release. Why not start now for 2008?
There in lies your answer. If was a state secret the dems would have no problem releasing it.
WHO WERE THE HISTORIANS, AND DIDN'T THEY COMPLAIN THAT THEIR FINDINGS WERE SUPPRESSED?
