Asleep? Who's asleep? I'm halfway through my pot of coffee. Oh, that's right...you get up before the roosters do.

Yep, I kick them rooster's butts!
I was just passing by on the rocket thread and thought I better say hey. Hope all is well.

Mmmmm, coffee. Double cappuccino for me in the AM. It'll be a while though.

If I didn't have FR to keep my brain active while I work all night I don't know what I would do.

thought I better say hey. Hope all is well. Well, hey yourself! ;-)
All is well. It's just really yucky outside today.
I'm ready for nice, cool, green England next month.

I agree. I used to be on the Kennedy, and those Tomcats climbing out in afterburner at night were spectacular!

Maybe they could return Durbin to his planet of origin?
To: DollarBill
saw a rocket, still very loud, going in a NE direction, continuing to get higher and higher in the distance. It was Howard Dean going ballistic.

They can also skip off of the atmosphere like a rock skipping on a pond and it gives the appearance of climbing to a higher level.

The sound of freedom.
A fighter in after-burner
To: DollarBill
B-1 in after-burner is deep and loud compared to fighters.
To: rlmorel
F-14's have a deep sound compared to the F-18's anyway. I don't know what a F-16 sounds like but if anything like a F-18 the sound isn't close to a F-14. By the way I was on the Independence.

Here's a question - if NASA had conducted a "stealth" launch of something from the Cape, why would they have launched it to the Northwest so that it would go over Chicago at that hour instead of over the Atlantic, it's traditional trajectory, in order to avoid the potential for damage to housing, buildings, etc.?
