Diverse mosaic of al Qaeda sympathizers make British capital their base

LONDON - On the morning after bombs ripped through the London Underground and crumpled a double-decker bus, four security guards escorted a one-eyed, Egyptian-born cleric, his arms amputated below the elbows from Afghan war injuries, onto the elevated dock of Courtroom No. 1 in Old Bailey, the capital's principal criminal court.

Abu Hamza Masri, for years a blood-curdling preacher at a North London mosque allegedly visited by shoe bomber Richard Reid and hijacker trainee Zacarias Moussaoui, listened silently Friday as his lawyer argued about his indictment last January on nine counts of incitement to murder for speeches that allegedly promoted mass violence against non-Muslims. In one speech cited in a British documentary film, Masri urged followers to get an infidel "and crush his head in your arms, so you can wring his throat. Forget wasting a bullet, cut them in half!"

Masri's case is just one of several dozen that describe the venom, sprawling shape and deep history of al Qaeda and related extremist groups in London. Osama bin Laden opened a political and media office here as far back as 1994; it closed four years later when his local lieutenant, Khalid Fawwaz, was arrested for aiding al Qaeda's attack on two U.S. embassies in Africa.

‘The Star Wars bar scene’

As bin Laden's ideology of making war on the West spread in the years before Sept. 11, 2001, London became "the Star Wars bar scene" for Islamic radicals, as former White House counterterrorism official Steven Simon called it, attracting a polyglot group of intellectuals, preachers, financiers, arms traders, technology specialists, forgers, travel organizers and foot soldiers.

Today, al Qaeda and its offshoots retain broader connections to London than to any other city in Europe, according to evidence

The barely literate former Finsbury Park Mosque headliner makes a fetish of dressing in flowing Arabic robes and looking sinister, using a steel hook, rather than a lifelike prosthetics, for a hand.  He claims to have lost his eye and both hands fighting the Russians with the mujahudin in Afghanistan.  However, writing in Front Page Magazine last year, Farrukh Dhondy noted that the dates don’t gibe with photographs.  There are pictures of Hamza years after the Afghan Russian conflict with two hands and two eyes.  Dhondy speculated that Captain Claw could owe the loss of his eye and his hand to careless handling of a bomb he was making.

This is what the Brits get for opening up their country to him and allowing him to openly preach hate and violence against them in their own country. This is their reward for tolerance and politically correct thinking. I am absolutely amazed that some Brit did not walk up to this POS while he was preaching his hate in the streets and put a bullet in his head right on the spot. Western European nations have become paralyzed by political correctness and their fear of offending someone. It's kill or be killed now and my choice is an easy one.

Unfortunately, virtually all of Europe is allowing if not encouraging muslims to flock to their countries.

There seems to be a slight awakening to the threat that islam is to humanity. Ex: Holland, now England. But it is slow to come. In some cases, the terrorist are causing countries to cower ever more. Ex: Spain.

Muslims have no place in a civilized world. What we are seeing now is akin to a Sci-Fi movie where a vicious creature is unleashed from a subterranean hiding place and goes on a rampage of killing around the world. In this case the unleashing comes from globalization, open borders, internet and appeasement.

Pretty accurate. It's like a Trojan Horse infestation. They'd better police themselves because civilized nations will not stand for it. The Israelis have been a lot more calm than other nations might be under the same circumstances. I think there will be calls for mass deportation, and as non-PC as that is, no civilized country can harbor such a monster.
