UNITED NATIONS (AP) - The U.N. Security Council called an emergency meeting for later Thursday when it was expected to pass a resolution condemning the London terrorist attacks, an official said. Greece's U.N. Ambassador Adamantios Vassilakis, the council president for July, requested the meeting soon after the four blasts rocked London, his spokesman said. Police officials say at least 33 people were killed in the explosions.
The spokesman, Theodossis Demetracopoulos, said the council would probably pass a short resolution condemning the attacks.
Britain has one of five permanent seats on the 15-member council. Similar resolutions were passed after the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States and the Madrid train bombings 2 1/2 years later.
Well, I'm sure that resolution will clear everything up.

I don't think they're going to stop with a mere resolution. These guys are angry. We may be looking down the barrel of a stiffly-worded diplomatic note here...

You know, when Koffi Anan became Grand Poobah (or whatever his title) of the U.N., he immediately noticed that for all it's talk, the U.N. was a paper tiger. He immediately addressed the problem by ordering thicker paper!
SO I feel so much more secure knowing they're right on top of the matter.
A resolution from the UN means squat.

perhaps Kofi will strongly admonish the terrorists to restrict their "resistence" to moral operations such as attacking U.S. targets and U.S. sympathizers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Please , GET IT RIGHT , They are not terrorist they are MUSLIMS who do these deeds . We are at war with radical islam and apparently there is no objection from the so called moderates . Where are these moderates , you don't exist do you ? Just what I thought , They approve ! To hell with you all .
