The Houston Police Department has instructed officers not to photograph illegal immigrants seeking day jobs, after an incident last month prompted an outcry from an immigrant rights group. Houston police Capt. Juan Trevino made the pledge to 400 people who attended a meeting Tuesday night organized by The Metropolitan Organization, an interfaith grass-roots political action group.

Sounds like a job for the MinuteMen. Driving an unmarked white base-model Crown Victoria with black steel wheels, of course.

Don't photograph illegal activity because some protesters dislike it?

So now we only enforce the law when sufficiently popular? or when popular with the right groups?

Eminent domain and this. What the hell is going on?

If we can't photograph them, can you please deport them? They are here illegally therefore they have broken the law and need to be sent packing!!!

But they damned sure are going to "photograph" license plates and drivers when they break the law, by running red lights.

I had a roof put on my house a couple of years ago. The crew was made up of about 10 mexicans. Not sure if they were legal or not. But, my wife went out to take some before and after shots. When they saw the camera they all turned their backs to her.
I have to assume that if they were legal they wouldn't have cared about having a picture taken.

Ahhh yes, those ILLEGAL LAW BREAKERS and thei ever so sensitive er....uh....R I G H T S!

While we are at it, these officers should no longer...

Pull over speeders...it may offend them or inhibit the sale of drugs somewhere.

Stop people who are littering...after all its art...isn't it?

Arrest people who are attacking people....after all they are just "Expressing" themselves as is their first amendment right.

/Retarded sarcasm off.

This kind of story makes me worry that the next civil war won't be liberal vs. conservative, it will be illegal vs. citizen - but who's side will the cops and the Feds take?

Do American citizens now have the right not to be photographed or is this a special privilege reserved for illegal aliens?

Have we now deteriorated into some sort of banana republic where pressure groups dictate public policy and the rule of law be damned?

What good does it do to deport them at taxpayers expense when all they have to do is walk back accross the border? All we are doing right now is giving them free travel to visit the folks back home on vacation untill they decide to come back here to work.

What the hell is going on?

Trace the money

Illegal immigrant workers benefits who?

Eminent domain for private use benefits who?

Border-less trade benefits who?

We don't elect the CEO's or the rich campaign financier's, so are we actually a democracy, they don't seem to be paying much attention to "We the People". Start voting for the ones with the least cash, they're the ones who haven't been bought and are the least influenced.
