It's always organized. The D.C. Chapter (God bless 'em!) usually takes the lead and gets the permit, and the rest of us show up to do our troops proud (and piss off more than a few Communists in the process). Bring a friend or two!

Great! Sounds like I need to take a road trip then!

I went to one probably less than two years ago. There were maybe 300 of us at a pro-troops rally, and then 100 or so of us wandered down to confront the hippie masses. There were literally thousands of them, but the police had barriers erected and a strong presence. Lots of screaming and shouting by this "peace-loving" crowd, but I had a blast.

Even got my ugly mug on the evening news. :-) (Gotta give credit to the local NBC affiliate, Ch. 4, who did a nice job presenting both sides of this story.)
