I don't think that being an actor/actress makes you a special 'class' of people. The law is nothing if it does not apply to all in the same way.
Actually, if you have any kind of public notoriety, then you must behave to a higher standard. That is sort of the trade-off you have to expect in return for the super wealthy living you earn on the good-will you cultivate with audiences and the popularity you enjoy with your public.
To put any other construction on the give-and-take relationship actors/actresses have with the ticket-buying public is to demonstrate an incredible gullibility and arrogance. Something tells me that Crowe is not gullible...what's that leave?
In his place, you would have to work out the broken phone problem civilly or endure it and like it. There is no justification for crude and coarse behavior. NONE. PS When's the last time someone threw something at you, hurt you and walked away? How did you like it?
