Polling Shows Support for Arnold's Reforms... Despite What You May Hear!

Undoubtedly, you have seen a lot lately about poll numbers. It is time to put them into some perspective. Mike Murphy, Arnold’s political consultant, sent the following statement out to the press. As you can see, Mike doesn’t think much of any public poll taken 5 months before the election! And you shouldn’t either. Our own internal polling shows Arnold in much better shape than the media would have you believe. We have also attached a few charts and graphs to show you what the public REALLY thinks about Arnold’s reform agenda.

Murphy Reaction to Latest Field Poll: "BALDERDASH!"

SACRAMENTO – Mike Murphy, political consultant for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, released the following statement today regarding the Field Poll:

“I would caution the opponents of reform not to believe summer poll numbers. Let’s not forget that in the summer of 2003, the Field Poll predicted Cruz Bustamante would be our next Governor, showing him leading the recall pack. Additionally, anyone who really believes that the Governor is at 66% support among Republicans is in for a big wake up call come November.

“Our internal polling continues to show the Governor’s approval rating at over 50 percent. It also shows a strong majority of the people of California support the Governor’s reform agenda.

“The real campaign for these reforms has not even begun, and our opponents are already declaring victory. They can declare victory all summer long, for all I care. We are squarely focused on November, and come this fall, after the voters learn about the Governor’s reform agenda, and we have made our case, I am confident we will win.”

GRAPHS FROM INTERNAL POLLING

Do you support or oppose the following? “A plan to reform California’s spending, called the “Live Within Our Means Act,” which would impose a spending limit based upon a three year rolling average of past state revenues. The spending limit would balance the state budget by giving the Governor the authority to either selectively cut spending to certain programs or cut spending across the board anytime state spending becomes out of balance with state revenues.”

Well, the poll questions are all slanted, they are all correct, but they arn't the way to see what the support is as of now, only of what it would be if everyone got the message. But hopefully the people will get the message, and California will be pulled of the brink.

The polls that have A.S. in the toilet, are the same ones that had him losing to Bustamonte in the recall. As was shown here for the NYT/CBS poll recently the bias incorporated in these polls in the form of bogus demographics renders any polls coming from the lib media as bullsh*t.

As usual, it is the liberal loudmouths that think they have defeated Arnold's efforts. Once again, tho, the silent majority in the red counties of the state will speak out and everyone will wonder how it happened...

Right! Arnold doesn't base his life around these bogus polls. They're all put out by the union thugs that despise him anyway. These polls are put out to dishearten people so they will not bother and show up at the polls. Remember the exit polls on election day that had Lurch winning in a landslide in the South!!??

All his life, Arnold has set huge goals for himself, and has achieved every one of them. This fall it will be Arnold vs. the teachers' union, Arnold vs. an irresponsible legislature, Arnold vs. self-interested partisans of both parties....I put my money on Arnold.

Remains to be seen.

So far, the bold announcement of today is always watered down by the backing-off press release of tomorrow.

That's what happens when you have no real principles of your own and are on a mission to make everyone happy.

I was called on this poll, and the questions were sort of slanted to say the least and the lady doing the computerized talking was not really clear, and one had to listen very carefully to the whole paragraph she was saying to get the right answer, I imagine a lot of people got bored listening to her, and could of even pressed 1 before listening to the whole story..

Americans like an under dog, and a fighter...Arnold has nothing to lose by taking it to the liberals out there.

The Senate Repubs should do the same thing but they are mired in mediocrity...

I know some people are skeptical of Arnold because he's socially liberal...but that was the only way he could have gotten elected in California while still being a fiscal conservative, and look how he's being treated by other liberals. Special elections may be the only way for him to get anything done.

The union idiots get all the press & put out millions in critical ads. The ads are blatant lies. They should be held accountable for false & misleading ads.

Hey, Arnold might as well go for it. You're right, he has nothing to lose, other than perhaps proving that California is ungovernable and completely irresponsible. If his initiatives tank, and California continues to carreen toward the precipice, he can go back to Hollywood and make "Terminator 4."

>>The polls that have A.S. in the toilet, are the same ones that had him losing to Bustamonte in the recall.

Absolute falsehood. The polls from yesterday and today were both conducted by the Field Institute.

Here's their poll showing Arnold leading the pac against Bustamante et al:

http://field.com/fieldpollonline/subscribers/RLS2095.pdf
10/3/2003 #2095: Davis's recall supported by big margin. Schwarzenegger well ahead of Bustamante in replacement election.
