Jacksonville, Florida (AHN) - The national attention has not been close to fair concerning the case of two missing boys from Jacksonville, Florida, but family and police still continue to search.
With little or no leads recently in the case of 12-year old Mark Degner and his 13-year old friend Brian Hayes, both of whom were last seen leaving Paxon Middle School in Jacksonville on February 10th, police are hoping new leads or clues will help them find the boys.
Mark's grandmother, Darlene Briggs, tells Jacksonville television station WTEV, "There are times you feel down, but you get strong and go back out again because you believe those boys are alive and well and you have to find them".
Stories circulated the boys planned to run away from home, but both sets of parents say they were unaware of any such plans. The boys are both mentally disabled and Mark takes medication for Bi-Polar disorder.
Briggs adds, "It was frustrating to start with because we had lost so much ground. Everyday I pray for a miracle, and everyday I believe we're going to find them, and one day I really believe we really will."
A $5,000 reward is issued by the Justice Coalition for anyone with information concerning the the boy's disappearance.

Gosh, I feel for these parents.
How sad. I've never even heard of this story.
I know! It's crazy how not once have these 2 boys been talked about. I can't believe the police waited 4 days to go search for a 12 yr old and 13 yr old. That is insane.
OMG
I cant even imagine what the parents are going through.
Never heard of this case.
February 10? And we're just now hearing about it? What is wrong down there?!!!
Greta Van Sustern and Court TV covered it repeatedly for weeks.
Overkill when it comes to missing kids. Apparently the police didn't do too much of a search in the first few days as they were convinced with the kids mental issues that they were probably runaways. Real shame too because if you are not out there in the first 24-48 hrs...you might as well screw it.
This is AWFUL!!! I can't believe I'm just now hearing about these poor boys. Aren't these parents and their families trying to get the word out? Why hasn't the national media, cable shows covered it? I'd be camping out on John Walsh's doorstep.
Already covered by America's Most Wanted.
Thanks, I must have not been watching when they covered it.
John Walsh covered the story in March. Nothing since. It's crazy...where is the round the clock media coverage on these boys? Oh wait..they aren't blonde and pretty and from rich families...nevermind.
