It was a very moving rally, pretty well attended, although it would have been bigger if people had had more notice. The sound system was not up to the job--I wonder if they even had a sound permit. Anyway, we couldn't hear anyone from where we were, six or seven layers back in the crowd. We = Cacique, rmlew, rmlew's sister Ilona, Wuli, Cyborg, Do not dub me, firebrand. If other freepers were there, please add your comments below. A few Protest Warriors were there also. There was lots of press coverage, as StarFan has already reported on the rally thread. I was interviewed by CNN Radio. Lots of TV attention on the speakers. From the little I could hear, it seemed that the speakers were staying away from countering the leftist orientation of the "Freedom Center" and sticking to the indisputable fact that such a center does not belong on this very sacred spot. People had photographs of their loved ones who were murdered on September 11, 2001. There were a few emotional scenes. The fire truck with the flag painted on it kept going back and forth, greeting the rallyers with its siren. Someone told me there was a person handing out pro-IFC literature up at the other corner, but I didn't see him. Lots of tourists around, taking pictures and accepting flyers about the rally. Not too much of a lunch crowd from the surrounding buildings, it seemed to me. Afterward, we went to a typical freeper watering place, an Irish pub, O'Hara's, right near where the World Trade Center used to be, on Rector Street. I can just picture what a thriving establishment this must have been back in the day. We have to keep on top of this issue and keep it alive. We can't let the IFC get their way on this. Many thanks to all those who made this issue visible and especially those who, in time-honored freeper fashion, exposed on FR the underlying organization and funding behind the IFC.
Good job!
You weren't square. You were there.
Thanks for your work on this! Nice going.
Could somebody give a link so I could get up to speed on this? I must not have seen the original posts on the "IFC".
The take-back-the-memorial SWAT team. I know I left people out. Please ping them for me.
Soros operatives have seized the memorial, for the express purposes of desecration and deceit.

It was a good rally. That poor lady made me want to cry.
Tri-State
I wish I wasn't so darn far away from NYC, I would have liked to have attended. This definitely needs to stay in the public's eye.
Great report!! Hopefully it opened some eyes.
She never got to thank the firemen who wouldn't give up, even though she lost her husband, so she thanked a fireman's widow. A lovely, heartbreaking moment.
Thank you for doing this.
Four years after the fact... and I think I heard her say she has children too.
Can you add me to the tri state ping list? I am in Stamford CT.
I hardly did a thing. I was trying to get it off the ground when the family groups went big-time with it--see all the sponsoring groups in the original thread (reply 10).
Bravo to all who were there. Thank you.
